Booked in advanced and asked for a table out on the deck next to the sea. Was really looking forward to it! Our table was for 8:30. Arrived at 8:25 and we were taken to a table out in the deck but not next to the sea as we asked for (and they were plenty of empty tables for 4 empty at the time). When we asked why and explained that that was not what we have asked for, the guy told us that that was reserved. We told him that we made a reservation too but he said that the table on the back was our reservation and there was nothing he could do. Really now???? We decided to stay and have our dinner since it was too late to find somewhere else to eat. The food was ok to be honest, not great for the prices they charge, although I did not like the fact that the salad and appetizers came at the same as the main course. Bread was charged extra (€2 for each mini bread roll) although we were not asked if we wanted any. Except from one waitress that was polite and smiling the rest seemed annoyed to be serving us. The burger was nice (although it was rare in the middle not medium to well done as I asked) noodles were a bit oily for my taste, slow cooked lamb was nice, not as soft as expected, the gravy was really nice though. The French salad and the halloumi with fig were amazing! On another note, we left at 9:45 and the tables in the front row were...
Read moreToday me and my 12 yo older went to eat at this place. We wanted to sit at the front side by the water which had more than half of their tables empty. We were told at the entrance that they were ALL reserved and that we could only sit at a table facing the street. As a greek living in sweden for 10 years now I must say a few things, in hopes that this will reach more people: 1: I'm pretty sure that if I was not with my early teen daughter but with friends instead, I would have gotten a table by the water.
2:Face control is very frowned upon in civilized countries.
3: I am at this moment very ashamed to be greek and sadly reminded of the impression we give tourists with our small minded mentality and the 90s attitude.
4: you need to hire people with experience, and not teenagers who judge based off of incomprehensible factors.
PS: we ended up sitting at the restaurant right next to it and at no point were all these tables taken at Gozo. 🤣 Oh, and by the way, that other restaurant , really deserves 5 stars, people! It is called thalassa. I, without a doubt recommend it. 👌 Bye Bozo. Good luck with it all. If I could give zero stars that would...
Read moreActually, we were quite taken with GoZo after our first visit. We were taken to the table on the terrace by a very nice lady. We had a good turnover that evening with just cocktail and wine for the bar. The cocktails were all in all good and the bottle of wine we had was as we had ordered it. With this good experience, we wanted to have a second evening at GoZo. At the reception there was again the same friendly lady and unfortunately a very unfriendly gentleman. After the greeting we were directed by this gentleman to a seat at the storage area for water pipes. We could see that there were other seats available, but when we asked him if we could have another seat, he was very unfriendly. We then left the GoZo. It is simply a pity when the doormen are unable to assess the guest correctly and thus generate a good turnover for the business. The location can therefore only be recommended to a limited extent. The location is otherwise beautifully done. This bouncer has ruined all other...
