Takis — Restaurant in Kassandra Municipality

I simply don't understand how this is the most highly rated restaurant in town. First of all, the service is terrible. It started with the waiter refusing to take our order for drinks until we've chosen everything we wanted to eat. Not even water on the table, which is basic for other tavernas. Who cares if you are thirsty, right? Let's wait for the drinks until the food arrives...

Then we wanted to split the bill between two families. Again, not possible. Who knows why, when anywhere else you go, they do it without asking, but here the waiter simply cannot write the orders on two separate papers. We agreed that we will simply list the food we ate when leaving. This of course did not happen, we just got the bill altogether, and had to guess the greek names from the bill and split it ourselves at home.

Then the orders. We wanted to ask to switch the rice that comes with the souvlaki for fries. Yes, you have guessed it, not possible. We also wanted to order one portion of bread, which is 1 euro on the menu. The waiter said very nicely that he will bring bread for the whole table. How nice of him, only forgot to mention that that will be 9 euros, even though we wanted only one portion.

So after all this, you would think that at least the food will be good, because the restaurant could not have possibly gotten this high rating for its service for sure. But no. The fried squid was chevy, the octopus was chevy and burnt so much that you could only taste the burn from the grill. The chicken souvlaki was dry as hell. The mussels, crab salad, dolmadakia and tzatziki were okay, but far from exceptional. And on top of that the restaurant isn't particularly cheap either. Oh we got a cheap ice cream for free at the end, thanks a lot...

So all in all, super unfriendly and inflexible service, and below average food. Totally not worth the money and the two days of wait (because if you are with a larger group you need to book at least two days in advance, which is a joke for this...

There's one small detail to bear in mind when planning your visit: the restaurant is closed from 17:00 to 19:00. Despite this short intermission, Fish Tavern Takis more than makes up for it with the exceptional quality of their food and service.

A Delightful Evening at the Best Greek Fish Tavern!

Our family recently had the pleasure of dining at this amazing Greek fish tavern, and it was a truly unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beautiful night beach view that perfectly set the mood for the evening.

The food was simply outstanding. We indulged in a variety of delicious dishes, including fried squid, hamsii, seabass, shrimp spaghetti, French fries, and croquettes. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. It was undoubtedly some of the tastiest seafood we’ve ever had, with every bite being a delight to our taste buds.

What made our experience even more enjoyable was the incredibly short waiting time. Our food arrived in less than 15 minutes, allowing us to dive into our feast almost immediately. The service was top-notch, with the staff being extremely friendly and attentive throughout our visit.

To top off our wonderful meal, we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary ice cream, which was a delightful way to end the evening. Another bonus was that there was no additional service tax directly placed on the bill.

Overall, this Greek fish tavern exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're looking for a place with exceptional food, breathtaking views, and excellent service, look no further. We can't wait to return for another memorable meal! Five stars...
