Karbounakia — Restaurant in Kavala Municipality

I had the worst experience as a tourist in this fast food place so far. It wasn't so much the crowd, as the employees were not organized and friendly. I waited for half an hour, maybe more, while people were taking their orders, and then it was my turn to be asked what I wanted with the sentence: Oh, you're still here! After me, many Greeks came, who were served immediately, and after I said what I wanted to order, I waited another half an hour. Towards the end, I told the employee that I wanted a small change in the order, instead of a pita, to pack only meat, she said OK, but when it came time to serve, she was impudent and packed my gyro with a pita, explaining: Now you're telling me!? That was the least of the problems, to take the meat out of the pita, because there were no other sauces and spices inside, but she didn't do that. I waited 1 hour for 3 gyros. I don't recommend this place...

This is one of the top gyros places in Greece. It is a heavy statement to claim as such but I had my fair share of travelling around Greece and tried as many as possible, therefore I think I am being fair and honest. If you passing by Kavala, make the extra effort and drive through and stop for a snack. You will definitely feel rewarded! If plan to go there for holidays, then you will probably end up being a regular (nothing like a can of beer and a gyros before hitting the famous city bars). If you live there permanently and never heard of the place, then there's something wrong with you and you should immediately visit your GP. Cannot stress out how good...

This is truly one of the tastiest, and maybe the tastiest place in the city for making gyros and souvlaki. I highly recommend it. I have been visiting it for years and the food is always top notch. Fresh, hot. The ladies who work there know how to take care of and prepare the food. They are always positive and smiling. This contributes to a cool vibe.
