Ο Φάρος — Restaurant in Komotini Municipality

This was not dinner. I was last week here, this was not even food. The music was way too loud. This was a scam disguised as a restaurant a money trap designed to humiliate customers while draining their wallets.

I was robbed of 40 euros for something I couldn’t even identify, because the receipt was written in Greek. I don’t speak Greek but apparently here, that’s my fault? I paid for a ghost dish that wasn’t even listed on the menu. That’s not hospitality. That’s theft with a smile.

I ordered a Sprite. The menu clearly says Sprite. What arrived? A 7UP No Sugar the kind of tasteless chemical water nobody actually wants. It’s like they know people hate it and force it down your throat anyway. That’s not a mistake, that’s disrespect. If you don’t care enough to serve what’s printed on your own menu, then what exactly are you running here?

The “food” and I use that word loosely was a disgrace. Overpriced, stale, and clearly reheated. It had the energy of prison rations: soulless, industrial, stripped of any flavor, prepared only to fill a plate and steal your cash. I wouldn’t even feed this to my dog. At least in jail, food comes free. Here you pay premium prices for punishment on a plate.

And let’s talk about prices: the numbers on the menu did not match what I was forced to pay. That’s fraud, plain and simple. Imagine eating while calculating what kind of scam will appear on the bill. That’s the atmosphere here: not joy, not culture, not food, just fear of being ripped off again.

This is not a restaurant. This is not Greek cuisine. This is a factory of disappointment, a supermarket microwave hidden behind fake smiles. A place that poisons the reputation of real Greek food.

Want to know how to escape this nightmare? Walk across the street to To Limani Tavern (Το Λιμάνι). There, food is fresh, prices are honest, and if you order a Sprite, you actually get a Sprite. To Limani respects you. This place insults you.

I want every tourist, every local, every person reading this to think twice: Would you pay luxury prices for reheated garbage, fake drinks, and lies printed on a menu? If not, stay far, far away.

This isn’t dining. This isn’t even business. This is daylight robbery served with a plastic smile.

The food:

We ordered:

Spaghetti with king prawns € 15 not worth it, it was probably the worst we have eaten in a restaurant in Greece. There was no taste neither in the pasta tomato sauce nor the prawns- it just tatsed like cooked pasta with boiled prawns, with a little more effort it would have tasted much better.

Special sallad rocket € 9 - do not order this sallad! My husband was looking for a special sallad and this is what we got:

a little bit of grated carrot, some lettuce, we could not even taste the rocket, there was like two leaves of rocket in this ”special rocket sallad” 2-3 macro pieces of sun dried tomato and 4 pieces of fresh tomato… with ”pameagano” cheese - which is deffinitely not Parmigiano-Reggiano, just some cheap grated cheese - i would not pay anything more than € 4 for this sallad - I still dont know What in the sallad cost € 9 !!!!

Calamari / Fried squid- € 12 was average taste Nothing special.

We tried to order some grilled sardines, which were sold out - which I am actually thankful for - I do not believe they would have tasted any better.

All food we have tried at this place is just average.

So basically - if you are interested only in the view- go eat there, if you want good tasting quality food- dont go!

This is a wonderful restaurant! The food is so delicious and perfectly done, it also arrives soo quickly! The staff is so nice, welcoming and easygoing! Stefania is such a sweetheart - she gave us great recommendations, made us feel comfortable, taken care of and even remembered small details about us (once we were there, we had to come back every night we could 🥰). The reservation was so easy and we always got the same table at the perfect spot in my opinion! 😊 The view is simply gorgeous, we enjoyed every part of the experience! Such wonderful atmosphere and always lovely dinners with a perfect sunset view! There’s also another young sweet lady with beautiful curly brown hair (I unfortunately didn’t get her name) who served us last evening who was also so very nice and welcoming! I rarely write reviews, but I had to express our gratitude - the evenings we spend at this restaurant were the perfect finish to our days and made our vacation such a wonderful experience!
