Marvellous place with decent, greek food and the nicest family-run taverna hosting you 😊 We came here already twice and I suspect this is not our last time. The food is delicious, just as it should be, the portions are large and the value is great. We ordered different things each time and everything have met high standards. We tried delicious meatballs in tomato sauce, they were absolutely mouthwatering together with the aromatic tomato sauce! 😋 Very fresh and tasty fried anchovies, the sea bass was very nice too and the portion of gyros was very big and nice in taste. Saganaki were as they should be (not a case in other tavernas) and tzatziki were one of the best on the whole island. Not a single reason to complain. We were also impressed by the service: the man serving us was always very, very polite and very quick, we did not have to wait too long for the food and we saw it was prepared fresh. Of course, you can add to that nice sea view and the fact this is not a tourist trap, unlike some other places in the area which we also tried. We always strive to find the genuine places and the genuine people and here we found all of that. This place has not been spoiled yet by the tourists so for us, this works perfectly! Awesome local taverna with delicious food and relaxing atmosphere. We got into Atheni late due to the cancellation of the Fiskardo to Vasiliki ferry so we had to be rerouted from Sami to Astakos plus a 2.5 hr drive! 🤬 The taverna owner was so kind to serve us at 11:15 pm! We weren't disappointed bc the food was delicious!

We returned for 3 more meals trying most of the things they had on the menu. All properly prepared by the parents in the kitchen while the sons handled the services and customers.

We didn't even try the other two restaurants on the main street there bc their menu was definitely tourist food, such as Spaghetti! Really, on a Greek Island??? 😱🙄

Don't be a dumb tourist eating spaghetti! Eat really good Greek Home Cooked meals at O Alekos! We will be back next time we are on Lefkada, especially when we love the accommodations at Sun...

I don’t know how there are so many reviews saying the food was so good. Because from what we have tried for 10 days in Greece, this was the worst place. We ordered chicken gyros, the price for it was twice more expensive than in other cafes we saw, but the menu doesn’t say they serve it as a plate, so when they brought it to the table we were surprised by the portion. But we were completely disappointed with the taste of it. Maybe it’s one of the traditional ways to cut the meat which I do not know about, but it’s so thin we first thought those are all chicken skins - it was really dry and unseasoned. My pita was burnt.
