Beautiful taverna with delicious, Greek food overlooking the bay & top-notch servers. I specifically would like to mention Kostas - I absolutely loved him. Not only is he incredibly friendly & makes you feel really welcome (which is why this was our go-to restaurant), but he is also very attentive & knows the menu & the different food & drinks really well. He recommended me a really nice wine & also some delicious cocktails (probs to the girl at the bar as well). I usually always have issues finding a sweet - yet not too heavy - wine... & he really got me what I was asking for. He also recommended several cocktails & homemade lemonade, which I tried & loved. The freddo cappuccino & Greek frappé were also amazing, thank you so much for those recommendations as well! Another thing is that I was able to get dishes not on the menu, which the restaurant however had, which I would not have known about without the help of our lovely server Kostas. I always felt really well taken care of as customer by him & just no matter how busy it was - catered to with 100% effort. I would simply come back here because of the wonderful service & hospitality of the staff (especially him)... but the food is also exceptionally good. Try the shrimp saganaki, saganaki cheese, wine leaves, oven cheese, beet root salat, Greek salad, baby squid - the super fresh & delicious fish they generally serve. Visiting Taverna Elena is more than just a dining experience; it's a treasured family tradition. Nestled in the beautiful Geni bay, this gem is accessible by both car and boat, adding to the allure of this hidden paradise. Over the years, Dimitri and his family have consistently proven themselves as outstanding hosts, offering warm welcomes that make you feel not just a customer, but a friend.

The restaurant, passed down from grandfather to nephew, holds a charming allure of tradition, where every detail resonates with the family's love for their craft. The best testament to this is their daily catch. The family owns boats for fishing, ensuring the freshest fish on your plate every day.

My personal favorite is the sardines on the grill - the taste of the sea in every bite, expertly cooked over an open flame. However, their diverse menu caters to all palates, with each dish embodying the same dedication to quality and flavor.

As a token of our gratitude for their exceptional hospitality, we have gifted them a movie. Such gestures feel only natural when we consider the family bond we've formed over the years.

I want to warn all tourists before you sit down in this restaurant: if you don’t understand Greek, always translate your bill with Google Translate, because these waiters have developed a whole scheme.

We sat down, the service seemed good, the food was tasty, but at the end the bill came to 315€. When we looked closely, we saw they had charged us for a whole bottle of wine and two portions of zucchini that we never ordered.

We asked the waiter, and he nervously said, “Sorry, we added items from the customers who just left to your bill.” As you can imagine, that is simply impossible – once a table closes its bill, it cannot be transferred to another table. This is clearly a scam.

In the end, after insisting, the “corrected” bill was 250€. If we hadn’t noticed, we would have paid their little trick. Greeks here are relying on foreigners not checking their bills in order to cheat them. Absolutely unacceptable.

At the end they received a 2€ tip – just enough for them to buy a sugar packet for their cheap lies. Greetings...
