Gaidaros Canteen Kalamitsi — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

One of the most relaxing places to be in Lefkada (for us). We love going to Gaidaros and we always find it soooooo relaxing here. It must be the music (it's rare to find places with good taste in music around) and the way Nikos created this place as to make you feel you get out of your own world for a few hours. There are parking spaces around, cold drinks always and some snacks and grill, as well as a few sunbeds available for Gaidaros clients. The beach in the front of the bar is never too crowded as there are some rocks as you enter the water, but hey-ho we like that because most of the people just want clear entrance to the sea and leave us space to enjoy this one. Gaidaros Canteen was a real discovery for my family. Probably one of the few peaceful places left in Lefkada. Self service canteen/bar with a lovely atmosphere and a good music. Totally relaxed and friendly staff, served you a well prepared traditional food and drinks. They have a very few umbrela&sunbeds set, with a lot of space between and costs only 5 euros each. As well they have a Toilet and a shower. The sea is with unbelievable blue color, but deep with pebbles and a bigger stones. More or less the same like all the west coast. Total freedom and quietness with a free parking for the guests. They prefer to have quality over quantity. So, if you do not need loud crowded and "famous" beaches, that's your place. The only thing you should be aware of is the narrow and difficult road to get there. But, if you are an experience driver there is no problem. Believe me, it's worth it at the end!
