Avali Beach — Attraction in Lefkada Municipality

Beach made of fine pebbles, which sometimes turns into sand. the beach is reached through the coffee bar. entering the sea is easy. getting to the beach itself is ... I will say that you have to be a good driver. and you must have a raised car. lowered cars do not pass. very bad road. the road itself is narrow. two family cars cannot pass each other. but if you drive an aigo and some small car passes by. there are a lot of turns and slopes. you have a parking lot next to the beach itself, we didnt pay we found free parking. the same problem is with the neighboring beach, where the roads diverge at one point. there is no natural shade on the beach, so bring umbrellas, which applies to all beaches on the island. since we visited a different beach every day or even two beaches a day, this is the only beach where the sea was the warmest of all the beaches. on the whole side of the island. a little further down we also saw a couple of campers parked by the sea. we have no idea how they managed to get there, but...

Indeed the place is nice, the sea is the same sea that you can find all over Lefkada, nothing special and different to worh losing a day. The reason I give 1 star is that nobody is saying anything about the road to reach the beach which is not short (~5 km). Is very narrow, steep and full of tight turns, also on some portions there is no asphalt and a lot of risks to take, not to mention how hard is to manage it when another car is coming from the opposite way no matter if you go down or up. Another portion of the road is going through a village with one way driving only and they have a traffic light that lasts for 4 minutes but is not enough for everyone to pass so they get stuck in the middle and you can dinner in the car because you won't move from there very easily. I don't recommend this beach to the people with no patience and...

This place is for naturalists/nature lovers and zen seeking. This is not a place for people who need entertainment. Those beaches are in the top list online.

For the zen people: you can find here a great beach with sun-beds and some nice umbrellas for 10 euro: 2 pieces sun-beds plus umbrella in June. A great beach bar with amazing food (ask for the desserts they are amazing), toilet and great zen/chill house music. There are no showers.

BE AWARE: there is literally a parking for max 10 cars, you really have to go there early or park on the road but be carefully where so that others can cross by your cars. The street is narrow but very well asphalted so it’s fine, just narrow.
