Nestled in the heart of enchanting Lefkada, the steak and burger place I visited proved to be a carnivore’s sanctuary, offering a gastronomical journey unparalleled in taste and ambiance. With its rustic charm and welcoming atmosphere, this eatery provides a cozy refuge for both locals and travelers, allowing them to immerse in a world brimming with rich flavors.
The steak served here is nothing short of a masterpiece. Each cut, meticulously selected, undergoes a marinating symphony, resulting in a tender and juicy delight. When cooked to perfection, the steak imparts a harmonious blend of smoky and savory notes, making each bite a crescendo of culinary ecstasy. It’s a true symphony of flavors that dance upon the palate, leaving a lingering trace of succulence.
As for the burgers, they are a concoction of freshly ground meat, crowned with crispy lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and a slice of creamy, melted cheese, all enveloped within a toasted brioche bun. The amalgamation of textures and flavors creates a medley that resonates with a sumptuousness that is both bold and comforting. Each bite is a reminder of the meticulous craftsmanship and passion infused in creating these delicious marvels.
Beyond the exquisite meals, the hospitality exhibited by the staff is commendable. Attentive and warm, they ensure that every diner feels valued and cherished, enhancing the overall dining experience. The ambiance is harmoniously intertwined with the island's laid-back vibe, allowing patrons to savor their meals while soaking in the picturesque beauty of Lefkada.
In conclusion, this steak and burger haven in Lefkada is a revelation of flavors and a testament to the island’s vibrant culinary landscape. It’s a place where every meat lover can bask in a delightful dining experience, reveling in the symphony of tastes and aromas, all while being cradled in the embrace of warm Greek...
Read moreBecause there are so many seafood taverns and restaurants, that's exactly why Pueblo stands out in the crowd.
We tried the mushrooms with garlic and rocket salad for starters. The mushrooms had a very interesting sauce, similar to a rance sauce (I think) and the salad had a great balsamic vinegar - balanced in taste and not too sour - the cherry tomatoes were very tasty and so were the other ingredients.
The mains consisted in the beef burger stuffed with feta cheese and tomatoes. It's not actually a traditional burger - as you can see from the pictures - but the meat is wrapped around the cheese and tomatoes. I have to say this was one of the best tasting beef meat that I had, and I'm sure the same is used for the actual burgers. It was grilled, it wasn't too dry but juicy instead and the taste was just amazing. You need to try it, it's too hard to describe in words. The potatoes were also very delicious, not oily at all, with sweet paprika sprinkled on them.
We also tried the walnut pie for desert, which we liked.
All in all, they know how to cook here and we'll be sure to come back. Be warned that the stuffed beef burger portion is very big for one person and I really struggled to eat it all... but it was too good to stop :)
Eza Pilsner is also a good beer, I don't know why more restaurants don't have it. Though I did see it another restaurant in Nydri port where it was 3€, not 6€ like here. Kind of expensive at Pueblo.
But the food itself didn't seem expensive to me. We paid 60€ for all of the above, which is ok for 2 people (in my opinion).
The host is really a great guy and he even looks a lot like Harald Finehair from...
Read moreWe stopped off in the village of Karia on Lefkada island as my wife and I had heard of its charm from just about every local we spoke with. Initial impression of Pueblo was that it looked like a cool place to have a decent coffee as the signage stated that they roast their own beans. We loved the outdoor setup and sat for a meal instead. We decided to enjoy a burger as we have been traveling for months and missed the Aussie burgers we took for granted back home… The Pueblo burger was delicious… It was a perfect piece of grilled beef and it had a slight smoky taste to it. It was loaded with bacon, cheese, and egg, along with an onion reduction and tomato. The bread was a robust brioche which was perfect for mopping up the egg and juice left over in the end. We will return for dinner in a few days time and I’ve been told to try the meats as they are all local grass fed and from a sustainable supplier… We returned a few days later and enjoyed the pork chop too! Oh and the coffee was fire 🔥 too… Highly...
