very good restaurant. extremely delicious food and very friendly waiters, especially waiter Nikos. because of the friendly waiter and good food, we visited the restaurant twice during our 5-day stay on Ledkada. however, it should also be emphasized that the hostesses are very rude and unhelpful and the table reservation procedure is quite unclear for the guests. When we called on the phone to reserve a table in the garden, they told us that a reservation was not required and when we arrived we could not get a table in the garden. the hostess was very rude and could not explain why it was impossible and directed us to the table under the porch. the friendly waiter Nikos reacted very quickly and solved the problem so we got a table and garden. I advise the restaurant manager to review the table reservation procedure and for the hostesses to receive additional training on how to welcome guests, because they are the first to welcome guests and if they are rude, guests easily leave. we would have left if the friendly waiter had not responded. Read moreWe drove up to Karya to specifically eat here based on the reviews and we left marginally disappointed I am afraid. Service is, particularly front of house, as described - shirty, slightly stand offish and this is evident on arrival. Frustrating to be a party of 3 older women and be sat in the midst of families with young children on the inside terrace. It’s wonderful to have everyone eating but better table management would improve the experience for all. Food wise - stand out are the appetisers, bao bun was extraordinary. Mains were less strong - nanny goat was too heavy on parmesan, moussaka lacked aubergine and potatoes. Worse point is that the appetisers were served at exactly the same time as the mains - such a disappointment and ruined the meal. No acknowledgement from anyone that this was bananas decision making. Wine list not strong enough - best you can get is a macedonian and whilst not overpriced, the menu is crying out for an easy drinking, crisp assyrtiko. Food service (as above) insanely quick but remainder hard to get anyone’s attention. Think it’s falling foul to its own hype...

The starter (Mushrooms in the pan) and the salad (Dakos) came quickly. Unfortunately, the mushrooms were already medium warm.
The main courses (Chicken fillet & Beef cheeks) were served with great delay.
When we called the waiter to point out the delay (after 30’) he admitted there was a mistake with our order - but he didn’t compensate by possibly treating a beer. When they served our meal, we realised that the beef cheeks were cold. I had again to point this out (this meal is already cooked) … and request a replacement. The second plate came cold as well.
Bottom line, the customer experience was bad (although the taste was good) and the owner didn’t seem to care or provide any treat to compensate with the above
