Cafe Marina — Restaurant in Municipality of Aegina

This is my absolute favorite spot in Aegina Marina for breakfast. The English Breakfast was worth coming back for, with generous portions of perfect eggs, superbly cooked bacon, sweet beans and fresh Greek tomatoes. The fresh squeezed orange juice glints in the Aegean sunlight, until you pull it into the cool shade. The proprietors, Panos and Gelen, are friendly and full of an authentic warmth that made me feel like I had family here. Coming back later in the day for a creamy and crunchy ice cream cone and shot of the local libation (Tia Maria here) were everything I hoped for. This is a real taste of the Island!

I would not recommend this place to anyone, rude owner. He treated me like a thief when I was with my family and we paid for the ice cream. I only accompanied my sister to the bathroom because the door did not close and she needed help. The owner started speaking to me in a very rude way making a gesture for me to leave his place. I felt humiliated, when he realized that what I was saying was the truth, that is, that I was with my family, he hid behind the counter. Better that way because the only thing he could do was that, rudeness to the max. We Italians are hospitable to everyone, here it seems like they are doing...

Absolutely beautiful! Staff amazing, good prices for the area and lovely atmosphere. This place deserves lots of credit. If people want politeness and everything, you must show respect yourself by at least thanking them in Greek, or make the effort. Do not take things for granted... This is valid in every country you visit .. show respect and don't expect everyone to...
