The Taverna offers rooms, food, and a place by the sea with full service (take away, free umbrella, free deckchair). Stelios and all his staff are very nice and available. The rooms have an extraordinary view on the bay, they are clean, confortable and not expensive at all. The restaurant offers very good food: during our stay, we had both fish and meat, in big portions, for ca. 30-35€ for two people. The quality is at a very good standard, Stelios has a good variety of daily dishes, and fresh fish, too. From Apanemia you can go on foot to Άγιος Παύλος and choose your favourite place in a huge and quite desert beach. The sea is overall amazing, even though it could be very windy in Crete, you can still safely go as far as two/three metres from the beach. From our experience, the stay is restoring and relaxing, no noise, very few people (please note: we went there in the summer of Covid-19 crisis, but I think little changes in normal periods) and in the night a wonderful sky above your head. For all these reasons, I strongly suggest this...

The pros: -The food is amazing! I literally didn't have time to take a photo of all of the food because of how quickly we ate it. The vegetarian options are as delicious as the seafood options! -The hosts are kind and accommodating. -Customers of the taverna can use the sunbeds and umbrellas for free. -The beach is lovely!
Notes on the beach: It's on the eastern side of triopetra. It's quiet, with a sandy beach (the finest sand is by the water with slightly coarser sand by the sunbeds) and beautiful water. The seabed is also 99% sandy so you can go in without shoes. There are only a few rocks in the water. If you keep walking east along the beach you get to parts which have colourful little stones (might be amusing for children) and later to gravelly parts, as well as more rocky places. But at Apanemia it's sandy :) Either way the beach at Apanemia is great! Oh, and it's not overcrowded - just...
Read moreLovely beach, taverna has great views of the beach, and food is nice.
Visited taverna for dinner. Had the small grouper, delicious, actually had a view of the view of the fresh fish available. They have a board with the specials of the day. Menu is varied. Service is attentive and friendly. Enjoyed our meal.
Will visit again as going to go to the beach for a day. There is a lot of seating at the taverna, so look forward to a lunch there.
Parking a bit tight, there is room along the road, and a car park just past the taverna. Can see it jam-packed during the day as the beach does attract quite a few folks (many still swimming after 6 pm, unlike other beaches we have seen in the area that are nearly deserted at this time) so best to arrive by noon to get a decent/closer...
