Apospero — Restaurant in Municipality of Amorgos

Quite average. Per previous comments, the food was rushed out with no time between courses (we had our appetizers, starters and mains all on the table at the same time). The goat was awful - chewy and fatty, we hardly ate it. The staff were dancing around, on their phones and not serving customers - we sat with dirty plates for 25 mins and had to ask for the bill 3 times (just in general, it was hard to get served, such as asking for a wine list but the servers not coming back to take the order, which would be more logical). They could meet their price tag by doing things like clearing tables on time or offering to change plates and cutlery after each course, it was all a bit messy. At the end, they had one of those card machines that asks if you want to add a tip - the server was shocked when we gave 0% but also not interested in knowing why. The other half (evening half) of Mayasi, offering a more sophisticated but not pretentious option for supper. A nice selection of well thought and executed dishes. We tried the soup of the day (gazpacho), local salad (variation of the greek salad), beef, fava (chickpeas pure) and linguine with smoked trout. We paired these with a refreshing xinomavro wine. All the dishes were delicious and packed with flavour. The beef was cooked perfectly and was pink and tender. For desert, we had yogurt with pasteli (sesame and honey) mouse. The service was very polite but in some instances a bit slow. Nothing to worry about though. The atmosphere is very cozy and romantic during the night....

The restaurant is located in a secluded and tranquil square in the beautiful chora of Amorgos. The tables are arranged under some trees that embellish the square. The restaurant propose a modern cuisine inspired by some tipical plates or ingredients of the greek tradition. We particulary appreciated the pork and the smoked makarel with fava. The menu offered only one dessert (baclava deconstructed) but it was fine. The service doesn't match the quality of the cuisine; the staff is kind but the organisation must be improved: we received the plates in a strange order (a main course with the starters, a starter after the main courses...) and we had long...
