Yacht Club Jamaica Pool Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Angistri

This is a review of ‘Greek night’ from our experience last night, and a caution to those that have read previous reviews - as I did! The food is below standard and the entertainment could not be experienced as the evening was overtaken by a large group of around 30 all aged in their twenties wearing togas…so, we as a family of 4 (2 teenagers) could not see ourselves joining in the entertainment. Even if we had the inclination to join in, we couldn’t anyway as there was no space for us to ‘dance’ around the pool. We paid €84 for 3 ouzos & 1 soft drink, starters for 4 and meat main for 2 after being (unfairly) discounted as we refused the vegetarian main… First off, they shouldn’t charge the vegetarian option the same as the meat, and they need to improve the vegetarian option - €27 for either a frozen pizza or jacket potato is insulting, especially when the standard of the food is below average. Staff did offer alternatives, but as I said (for third time) vegetarians don’t eat tuna(?!), and the only other option was tomato spaghetti. Starters were average and I was told meat main was too, pork was tough and potatoes hard. We did however get given our plates to smash, which we did on the walk home - thinking of what a great waste of...

Having been to a Greek night last year and really enjoyed it I took some friends there this year. The service was incredibly slow. We waited almost an hour for the main to come after the starter. My spaghetti was cold on top and warm underneath which means it was sitting around. My friends' meat came about 15 minutes later. We then had to wait another half an hour for the desert. Having arrived at 8 pm we finished our meal at 11. I also note from another reviewer that tuna was offered as an alternative to meat. This was not an option I was given. Tanya, Kristos and the whole team are awesome. Greek night is so fun with the Greek music, stories from Kristos and Ianni, Greek dances, plate smashing amd BBQ food - loads of veggie starters. It's ideally located right next to the pool with a beautiful view across to Aegina. We love the frozen mojitos, coffees and avocado toast. Jamaica Bar feels like a piece of home to us with how friendly, kind and relaxed everyone...
