It saddens me to no end that I must give a relatively negative review to a steak house.
I heard so many good things about this place that I just had to go there.
I ordered the 900 grams tomahawk, that was a no brainer... Forethermore the menue stated it was aged about 20 days. Sound exellent doesn't it ? I however actually had to state twice that I wanted it medium rare. Not medium well. Twice.
At this stage a creeping uneasyness engolfed me. Why would a steakhouse even permit a medium well steak in their establishment ?
Not a good start. Not in a steakhouse it's not !!!
The steak arrived after more then 40 minutes...
It was not medium rare like I asked. It was not medium as well... and not even medium well... It was beyond well. It was overcooked. It was murdered with no shame. In a steakhouse. And it was not aged. It was just... Bad and really tough. Couldn't even chew it.
Really ? Seriously ?
I ordered the black Angus strak instead which was fine and arrived after 3 minutes. It was ok
The other thing this place is bad at, is pricing... They charge you for every little thing.
A 19 euro tomahawk ? Sure. Just add 2 more euro for the sause and before we forget pleas add 3 more euro for the side dish...
Other then that ? The place is ok.
My recommendation ? Just find another place. Corfu is just full of excellent restaurants fa better...
Read moreThis restaurant absolutely deserves 5 out of 5 stars! Super friendly service, a beautiful and cozy location decorated with lots of greenery and the food is exceptionally delicious. We would love to know what their secret is. We always ate our meat medium and it was both crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked medium and super tender. A real treat for the palate! Likewise, we highly recommend the delicious grilled vegetables and appetizers (wings and rips we had). These were prepared with a delicious sauce that my friend can't get out of his head. And the value for money can't be beat anyway. Normally we are more eager to try and like to go to a different restaurant every night during our vacation, but we went to Costas 5 times during our 14 day vacation. If you are in Liapades you have to go to Costas, otherwise you really missed something. P.s. Top tip is the Black Angus Rip Eye Steak. It was a bit more expensive but worth every cent twice! So...
Read moreProbaby some of the best food on the entire island, Costas has a wide variety of options, including some vegetarian fare. Everything is made with care and precision, with super high quality ingredients. The chef himself came out to ask how our food was!
I had the vegetarian burger and it was incredible, one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. My dining partners had the wild mushroom risotto, which looked amazing, the ribs, and duck salad. I was told all the meat was cooked to perfection, super tender, and melt in your mouth.
The desserts are just as divine. We tried bother the apple with forest fuit crumble and the strawberry cheesecake. Both were decadent and delicious.
The ambiance is quiet and quaint with a large outdoor seating area under a covered veranda. Old country western music played lightly in the background. The staff were amazing, attentative and kind.
Don't leave Liapádes without eating here...
