The food was definitely very average, we were expecting better quality. On the whole, not too bad. However, the service we received was horrendous. We had to physically move everything ourselves when we got too cold outside. Service was slow but the really dangerous part came when we were trying to pay the bill. Any tourists who come to this place should be very wary of the way that this place deals with conflict.
When we arrived, we weren’t told that there was a) no card machine and b) at 11pm most of the atms nearby were closed. When we got the bill, the restaurant proposed we should just go to the closed atm across the road.
We are three young women from Scotland. This was our first time in Corfu. When we couldn’t get cash out, or pay with card we were treated in a disgustingly rude manner. We did not physically have enough cash to cover the bill but had more than enough with our cards. We tried to ask if we could pay the bill through a bank transfer or even through PayPal or leave them something as insurance and come back to pay the following day. We offered our address and phone numbers. All of these proposals were shot down with the entire restaurant, who were apparently friends with the owners, mocking and jeering at us.
The restaurant proposed to drive us via motorbike to another atm to get the cash. Understandably, we were nervous for one of us to leave the group to go on a motorbike in the pitch black with complete strangers. This DIDNT feel very safe. Also because we would have been separated and none of us had ever ridden a motorbike before. Then the owner of this establishment, an elderly woman started screaming all sort of profanities both at us and at her workers. She didn’t speak a word of English but it didn’t stop her from verbally abusing us. She then suggested that she would drive us to the atm. As you can imagine, this was pretty nerve-wracking and it was late, we were exhausted as this was our first day and we didn’t know the area.
Once a kind neighbour offered to take us in his car, with the angry elderly woman, we agreed as we had no other option. It was getting later and the employees and owners got more and more aggressive. You would have thought that if we were actually trying to scam them - we would have just left and not chosen to face this behaviour which lasted for well over an hour.
We drove to the atm, far away from any area we knew or were aware of - bearing in mind this was now about midnight..... pitch black with no streetlights and no secure pavement, we handed the money over to the woman. The moment that she received the cash - she turned and screeched violently at us and kicked us out of the car - in the middle of the night - despite the fact that two of us were now crying because we were so terrified and the fact that she had promised to return us safely to the restaurant after we paid her.
We have never experienced such a blatant lack of empathy and just on a human level, this was shocking and sadistic as she clearly enjoyed the fact that we were crying. We will clearly never be going back but urge anyone who is interested to please take caution as they have no issues with forcing three girls into a strangers car, driving them into an unknown location and then abandoning them. The remaining balance to pay was €27 and the way we were treated reflects how little they valued their customers experiences. This is not a good or safe place for tourists.
The only reason we weren’t stranded on the middle of the night was because the kind neighbour felt so bad for us that he sneaked back despite the fact that she literally ordered him not to come back for us. He had to drive out of her sight before he turned around to collect us. Out of sheer kindness, he dropped us home. Who knows what would have happened if he’d left us alone.
We urge anyone who does go here to be careful, carry cash and not upset the owners as it could be very very dangerous. Also, don’t order the prawns, they had a very...
Read moreThe worst services I ever seen in world . I got my food after two hours. I got after 40 minutes for slices of bread I tough that they felt bad for the services, and they tried to give us something do not starve but actually they got us some bread that we didn’t even request and they put it on the note at the end. No I can’t believe this is possible. They told us that they are only two people, but they keep letting people come inside and let them stay at the table for half hour without saying nothing and they had to leave because they couldn’t order anything. About the food it was not horrible but close to it. We didn’t had any salt any oil or anything else on the table only the food we requested. The Portions was also very weird. Some of our group got three shrimps, and some of us got five on the same menu on the same order they got no clue about they are doing there. I can’t type here how many mistakes were made also after two hours of waiting for the food, they even forgot to bring us a tea. Also when we got to our hotel room three people out of the group throwed up. I have only one...
Read moreWorst place I’ve been to so far in Corfu. I am educated chef. I asked if I could see the fish and if it was fresh he told me to look at the sign, then he decided to come out with the Seabass which I saw and it looked OK. But the service here is not very good he was rude!!
and I didn’t feel welcome at all, i’m the only one sitting here may be because I came a little late but anyway the restaurant is open. It just feels like I’m not welcome at all and that is definitely the worst experience I’ve had here. I see myself as a polite person and I asked politely so I also expect that people treat me the same way. So it ruins the food even if it could be good in my opinion the experience you should have should be decent. The other places I’ve been to has been fine. Once more I will never ever come here again...
