Manners maketh man.
From the outside, Limeri Taverna in Dacia, Corfu, looks like a charming village escape. Its warm façade, gentle lights, and glowing reviews promise an idyllic evening. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a polite, smiling lady, and for a fleeting moment, hope lingered.
Inside, the illusion crumbled. We were seated in chairs next to the bar, and there he was—the man in charge, not a host, but a tyrant cloaked in authority. His presence did not invite; it commanded.
A thirteen-year-old girl, clearly working there, became his target. Ordered to fetch ice—once, twice—she returned only to be berated for the “wrong amount,” her ears assaulted with language so vile and grotesque it would make a sailor blanch. No child, no person, should endure this in any context, and certainly not where people come to eat.
Good food, pretty décor, even the most glowing reviews cannot excuse cruelty. This was not rudeness; it was abuse disguised as authority.
Boycott this taverna. Let it hurt him financially. Perhaps the locals will remind him, too, that children deserve respect, not terror. Without decency, even the loveliest place becomes a mausoleum of...
Read moreThis night me and my sister ordered a vegetable soup and some other starters. The soup was actually a package of vegetable 'Cup a soup'. For €3,50 I decided I sent the soup back to the kitchen and not eat it. The restaurant owner and no one else came up to me about it, and afterwards they tried to charge me for the soup that I didn't eat. For me, that was strange (in the Netherlands we don't pay what we don't like/don't eat and send back to the kitchen), so I asked the restaurant owner if I could pay for everything else, except for the soup. The reaction of the restaurant owner was very unprofessional, aggressive and out of order. He raised his voice in a unbecoming manner and eventually yelled that I should never come back again. Doesn't seem open to hear his customers opinion, directly goes in defense and blaming me as a customer: 'if you didn't like the soup, that is not my fault, that is yours, and you should still pay'. I went to this restaurant one time before, it was all very nice and they certainly Do have good food, but when you don't like something, it will not...
Read moreFantastic food, good prices and an authentic village-themed atmosphere. Best restaurant around the area easily.
I have dined for over a month for almost every day, I have nothing but the best to say.
This restaurant is to be trusted with bringing you the best, healthy and fresh food. This is mainly because this is a family run business and the owners care about giving this village a respected identity.
I especially recommend the delicious pork steak, fried calamari, clams and meat pasta. Do not forget to take a salad as they are mouth watering.
For people seeking a more home-like dishes, there is a special menu just for them with dishes such as pastitsada.
In conclusion, every time you visit this establishment, it welcomes you with an authentic culinary experience which is guaranteed to satisfy your desires and make you come back for more. If you are to pass by from Kato Korakiana, please do yourself a favor and visit this place, you will...
