Marea Seaside Restaurant Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

We were tricked by the airy, not crowded restaurant and beach, and most probably overly positive fake reviews, but it proved to be a bad choice at all levels. The water in this area of the beach has weeds and bad smell, many sea-urchins. Paying 12 Euro for 2 sunbeds with a tiny umbrella on pebbles here was a total mistake.

Then we had to try the food, which is quite price-exagerated for the plain taste and small portions. Even small kids are billed with 2 EURO for the 0,5 slice of bread they serve per person. The seabass was obviously frozen before cooking and the 2 pieces of carrot couldn't accompany it sufficiently for the 28 EURO price, it was a small fish that did not sufice even children. The Salads and seafood pasta we had were again small, so that after first order we had to do a second round because even the children were still hungry after the 50 min wait of the meals. 11 Euro for a spoon of Mascarpone with 2 savoyardi seem overpriced for me also. All meals had a plain taste, nothing alike meditearanean/ italian taste.

Probably for a fairer price the critics wouldn't have been so harsh, but even the attitude of the staff shows that these people do not see clearly how far they are from the fine dining concept, with the classical straw chairs that are in every fast food...

We went there a few days ago with my family and a friend. By the time we arrived the owners and staff gave us a friendly,warm welcome wich gave us a great first impression! The wine list perfect! The starters very tasty, amazing fresh salad, filled mushrooms are a MUST, freshly fried calamari and of course feta with honey!!! Excellent starters! For our mains I had chicken with tsitsimpira sauce, it was something I’ve never tried before and I’m already looking forward to eat again!!! Definitely recommend it! We also had the octopus wich had the best texture we’ve ever had in our life and the flavor was PERFECT!! My friend had the seafood spaghetti and was left speechless of the taste everything had!!! The dishes were all incredible from the way they looked to how they tasted!!! Never skip the dessert, we chose the cheesecake and mosaiko with ice cream wich was the cherry on top!! To sum up , EVERYTHING was AMAZING,very clean and sooo peaceful. Exactly what you need in the heart of Ipsos! Great view, perfect service !! Thank you to the owners for giving us an amazing experience in their restaurant and of course the Chefs as well!!! We’re definitely coming back and we definitely recommend it...

Beautiful and elegant restaurant in best location for an evening meal. Menu was full of surprises, to start we had the smoked trout, served with capers and onions, it was so delicate and divine. And feta wrapped in vine leaves served with gorgrous roasted grapes, absolutely delicious with lemon and herbs. For the mains, we both went with more traditional choices. A huge platter of giant pork ribs with home cooked fries, what's not to love.. and creamy moussaka, trust me, its nothing like the dried slab you get in some of the other restaurants, it was creamy with lots of delicious layers of potatoes, meat and aubergine. The wine list is extensive, we chose a Mochofilero from Kefalonia to compliment the starters. Service was a notch above, friendly and polite, we were lucky to sit in the garden area, under an almond tree with a view of the sea and lush green hillside. As the sun went down the area was lit up and the twinkling lights of the hillside villas made it magical.
