To Thalami — Restaurant in Municipality of Chalkida

A most unpleasant evening. The 'no smoking' policy inside the restaurant not only not enforced but we got mocked at by both the smoking clientele (table of 4 Greek chain smokers) and the the waiter who serves us and promised to talk to the smokers but never did. The food was massively over-priced (kalamari at €21 for example), the rest was at best, average. One of the worst eating experiences in Chalkis and needless to say will never revisit. Their behaviour explains why the place was virtually empty all night. I gave 1 star because zero stars was not an option. There are so many other establishments where at the very least, they treat their clients with a little bit of respect....

Food was not too good. I came with quite high expectations based on the Google reviews but I ended up a bit disappointed. We’ve ordered fried and grilled shrimps, grilled octopus and grilled mullet. Fried shrimps were good but nothing special, grilled shrimps were not very good and smelled a bit, octopus was very hard and very chewy (probably worst one I ever had), mullet was the only good thing really. In general the food wasn’t anything great and I wouldn’t come back and don’t think I’d recommend the place to be honest. The only good part is the location as it’s in quite nice next to sea beach and it was very pleasant place to have lunch at. But as said overall...

Επιπλέον, η ποικιλία από τοπικά κρασιά και τσίπουρο δίνει την τέλεια συνοδεία σε κάθε γεύμα. Η εξυπηρέτηση είναι άψογη, με ευγενικό και χαμογελαστό προσωπικό που φροντίζει να μη λείπει τίποτα από το τραπέζι. Οι τιμές είναι προσιτές και οι μερίδες πλούσιες, κάνοντας κάθε επίσκεψη μια απόλαυση. Είτε για ένα οικογενειακό γεύμα, μια συνάντηση με φίλους ή μια ρομαντική έξοδο, μια καλή ταβέρνα είναι πάντα η καλύτερη επιλογή για να απολαύσει κανείς την παραδοσιακή ελληνική κουζίνα σε όλο της...
