Palaiopolis - (Η Παλαιόπολις) — Restaurant in Municipality of East Mani

I had ordered potatoes from the oven. I then had 2 half potatoes in a bowl, topped with a mixture of cheese and spring onions. There was no sauce, no oil or melted butter. The dish was totally dry. I called the waiter and said that I couldn't eat it because it was so dry. He took note of this and left. Then he was no longer to be seen. I left the food. In the end, a second waiter came and asked how the food tasted. I said the same. He replied that he would report it to the owner. That was it. No apologies or regrets. I had to pay...

We visited Palaiopolis in Areopoli, Greece, and had an overall wonderful dining experience! The highlight for us was the fried feta cheese – it was absolutely delicious. We also loved how the Ouzo was served in a beautiful and unique way, which made it feel extra special. The veggie balls were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and a great addition to the meal.

However, the chicken flat didn’t quite meet our expectations.

Overall, a lovely spot with some amazing dishes, and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone...

Good tavern with pleasant outdoor seating right on Areopoli's main street. The traditional "siglino" pie was the highlight of our dinner, closely followed by the beef liver fillet with dried tomatoes. The eggplant salad was decent but overpriced. And the baked potato was a complete joke: one single potato, cooked with cheap olive oil, for €5! Dessert is on the house. Expect to pay around €30–35...
