My review will be based on the following: Welcome/Greeting: I knew I was taking a risk as I didn’t book and if there were no tables, it would have been a convenience store up the road visit for dinner. As I walked down the stairs and waited, 3 floor staff, including Maître d', head waiter and then the young guy serving meals, oh and the girl behind the bar, all 4 of you ignored me for a good 5 minutes until I said to the young girl behind the bar, “is there a table available?” She replied with one moment and then the Maître d' walked over. Asked if I had a reservation, I said no, but found a table. Grateful for that. Maître d' Service: I assume you are the tall man in the white t-shirt and shorts, directing people around! First of all, please stop attempting to joke with tourists! Your attempt at a joke was mistaken my the table next to me as you were being rude to them, when the lady asked for a cutlery, you said, “we eat with our hands here!” as you walked away, she muttered “what ever!” So stop your jokes. As the night got busier, you seemed stressed and ignored a lot of waiting customers near the stairs. You need to stop waiting tables, and as the head person on the floor, you need to greet customer, maybe clear tables when the opportunity comes, but remember first impressions last! You failed this basic skill! Order Taking: once I was seated, it took around 8 minutes for me to wave at the waiter so I can order and then it took another 3 minutes, total 11 minutes once seated. This is unacceptable service! Quality of Food: AMAZING!!! Cannot fault it really. You get 5 stars here, but you did bring me the starter and main for the table next to me. No issues, but twice?? You need to tell the junior floor staff, how to read table numbers. Service during meal: Mediocre again. No one came over to ask if I wanted another beer or anything else! No issues, I was only going to have 1 beer, but think of others who want to drink the entire night. Dessert: that was on the house to my surprise as it just rocked up. Which was nice, but when I asked the junior staff, “excuse me, but I didn’t order that” he looked at my confused and uttered ‘it’s on the house’ which I had to ask if he could repeat it, as I...
Read moreThe location of this restaurant is undoubtedly one of its main highlights, right by the sea, which offers a beautiful setting and definitely adds points to the overall experience.
However, the quality of the furnishings and general ambiance doesn’t quite match the prices. Tables and chairs felt dated and a bit neglected, which detracts from the otherwise scenic environment.
We were told it’s necessary to book at least a day in advance due to high demand, which we did. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our reservation had not been recorded. We were lucky to be seated after a large group failed to show up, but the situation was handled with minimal communication.
The food was average. Presentation was pleasant, and dishes like the sardines and stuffed calamari were decent , nothing exceptional, but certainly acceptable. The waitstaff were clearly overworked, though they remained polite and efficient throughout.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but not one I’d return for. The location is lovely, but the service and quality need to catch up with...
Read moreWe went to Samos Gagou Beach hotel based on a recommendation. We hadn’t made a reservation, but they said, 'If you wait for a minute, we’ll attend to you.' They prioritized those with reservations, which is very normal. We patiently waited for 1.5 hours, and they even complimented us on our patience. We finally sat down at our table and waited another 1.5 hours for them to take our order. They never, ever looked at us; everyone who arrived after us placed their orders and ate their meals. When I couldn’t bear the hunger any longer, I asked the waiter if we could place our order, and he walked away with a smile. In the end, they took an order from a table without a reservation that arrived after us, walking right past us (pretending to come towards us, but then passing by like it was a joke) to serve the new table. We left the money for the water we drank on the table and left. You may not like Turks, but we’re not overly fond of you either. Three women came with smiles, patiently and politely waiting. Was it really necessary to break our...
