We were planning on hosting our destination wedding welcome dinner at The Drunken Clam... until COVID had other plans. Throughout the planning process, we were constantly in touch with the owner, Angelos, who was extremely accommodating, answering our questions promptly and working within our budget to create a unique food and drink menu for our first night in Porto Heli with our guests. Although we unfortunately had to cancel the wedding , if the customer service we received is any indication, I have no doubt that the night would have been a success. We've had to deal with many vendors in the area and I'm sorry to say that most refused to work with us when sh*t hit the fan and the question of returning deposits came up. Angelos runs his business with integrity and decency. Do not hesitate to hire him to cater your event, plan your party, or make your date night dinner. We can't wait to visit Greece again and stop by The Drunken Clam, drinks...
Read moreThe restaurant looks great, the vibe is welcoming. The food is really good but some of the portions are smaller than I'd like. So due to this, some dishes such as the paella and the shrimp linguini are pretty worth it, but others such as the pork belly will not be enough to fill you up. If you are looking for a food experience, rather than having a filling meal, I think it's a good place. Otherwise, if you are looking for a good meal and something that will fill you up, I'd visit other places. It has a good selection of...
Read moreNot a typical Porto heli restaurant. Small menu targeting quality, good beer selection (again, quality). Definitely a highlight of the area if you want something different.
Do not expect quantity, nor gourmet tiny portions. It is something in between. We found the main dishes reasonably sized and priced. No complaints. Side dishes are also good value for money. Final sitting (22:00+ ) has polite, attentive knowledgeable service. Thank you!
We found some dishes excellent in recipe, execution and presentation (kalamari w tarama, octopus, bruschetta w nduja). Others seem simpler but the ingredients and the execution shine (fish n chips, beef) and some are exactly what you expect but not something more (fries, tuna tataki, paella, basque cheese cake). All ingredients are of high quality and it shows. We did not expect a so serious restaurant in Porto heli. Kudos.
Only complain... the ice cream. It lacks finesse.
