Kentrikon cafe — Restaurant in Municipality of Festos

We hadn't booked, but luckily our host managed to accommodate the five of us. Presented with a simple but varied menu of local dishes created by this family owned restaurant, we selected several starters of which Stuffed Courgette Flowers were simply divine. Of the main dishes, the homemade pasta was perfectly cooked and the Beef Stifado was richly succulent. If you are driving here, aim for the carpark by the cemetery at the top of the very steep hill. A short walk through the gorgeous lanes and alleyways brings you to this gem...

chiusura col botto la nostra ultima cena a kamilari, abbiamo scelto questo posticino che da quanto letto in rete ci ispirava parecchio e da ultimo attirati dalle interessantissime specialità del giorno esposte in una lavagna all'interno del locale, un po' diverse dai soliti piatti proposti usualmente dalle taverne locali...abbiamo preso muscoli cotti in ouzo con un tocco di piccante, pasta cretese con carne speziata e graviera grattugiato, melanzane al forno con pomodoro e feta e zucchine ripiene di varie verdurine e cous cous... è stato un tripudio di sapori, dai muscoli belli pieni e dal sapore davvero speciale, alla pasta cretese, una sorta di cavatelli fatti in casa e cotti (inaspettatamente...) perfettamente al dente e ben conditi con ragù speziato (tipo quello che mettono nella moussaka definito impropriamente alla bolognese...) e da aggiungere sopra formaggio graviera grattugiato, che mi ha tolto con soddisfazione la voglia di pasta dopo 5 giorni di astinenza, alle melanzane cotte al forno con sughino di pomodoro e feta, alle zucchine ripiene di verdurine varie e cous cous, entrambi molto molto sfiziozi...abbiamo spazzolato tutto nonostante i piatti fossero di buona quantità, segno che erano veramente appetitosi.,.con ottimo mezzo litro di vino bianco sfuso della casa (€ 6) e anguria e fiaschetta di buon raki offerto, spesa totale (considerato il pane/coperto a 1€ a persona) di € 45, davvero ben spesi...location molto gradevole, nel centro di kamilari e personale giovane ma ben preparato ed accogliente, in particolare l'ottimo ostis...alla...

Attracted by the high score and captivating photos, my wife and I stopped for dinner. At the end of the evening I can conclude that Kentrikon is good for a drink but I would certainly avoid stopping for dinner because: helpful staff alternative location location in the historic center. However: food below the standards of other places in the area above average prices cars passing by the tables very small tables placed on the street not suitable...
