I do not recommend this restaurant. We were in there near sunset. We obtained a table with a nice view and that is a big plus. Unfortunately, that's where the pluses end.
Service at the beginning was without complaints, we got a table and everything was served well. However, the lady serving us convinced us to have a average dish, which in the end was better than what we originally wanted. (This dish was missing from the menu).
We received lamb, which was highly fatty and bony from the recommendation and potatoes, the dish was heavily lacking of salad. So we ordered a Greek salad. Unfortunately, this one was quite poor for what we ate in Greece. Just a lot of tomato and cucumber, very little feta cheese and olives, there were only 7 of them on the whole plate.
We also took the small grill portion we were supposed to take the large one but the waitress convinced us to take the branine and luckily because the grill mix was very bad. Little chicken which was the only tasty one. Extremely large amount of horribly fatty ribs just bones and fat zero meat.... plus one schnitzel (terribly heavily seasoned tasted like a mix of spices). Fries ok plus a small raw salad. In general, a dish for 17 euros and little of it was eaten, in addition, poor quality.
Due to the fact that there was little meat in them we didn't feed ourselves. In addition, annoying was terribly temperature hot nightmare and in our area lacked any ventilators. In another room there was. Dissatisfied and flooded afterwards, we collided with another request for a bill 3 times and waiting for payment for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, we were given some more food in the form of some fruits that I no longer wanted to eat and just wanted to leave, which I said several times.
In summary a low rating due to poor food, poor ventilation and horrible time of waiting for the bill.
On Crete we ate previously only in chania there service as well as food was much better. After this restaurant we stopped eating in restaurants...
Read moreWe ate at Pelagos twice during our visit to Kalamaki and both times were absolutely top notch.
First, we had the Chirino Kotsi (Pork Shank) which was a special freshly out of the oven. We paired with the Greek plate which was a mix of Moussaka, Yemista, and Briam. We left completely stuffed after some watermelon and raki. On our second meal we had a small dinner, of Eggplant Imam and a side of Dakos. The Imam was one of the most delicious things I’ve eaten.
The view of the ocean was gorgeous. We didn’t dine at sunset but it would have been simply magical facing the sunset from the top patio.
The team here were so kind and attentive to make sure we were well taken care of. We will be adding Kalamaki on our itinerary for our next trip just to come back here. If you are in the area, make the...
Read moreWe ate at the Taverna Pelagos twice during our short stay in Kalimaki. A delightful experience, both times. Warm welcome by all staff/family members. Efficient service, always with a smile. The rib eye is to "die for", tender, melting, cooked to perfection! Other local more local dishes were as great. We highly recommend. And will definitely visit again, with pleasure, if in the area, in the future. Don't hesitate to enjoy a meal there, whatever the time of day but especially during the stunning sunset! Always...
