Gusto — Restaurant in Municipality of Ierapetra

A bit of a strange experience to eat here

First of all, the food was fantastic all around the table (10 starters and 10 main courses) everything was prepared just as it was supposed to, the meat was cooked to each person's wishes perfectly, and everything tasted great!

But when we arrived the waiter saw us to the table, we tried to order an aperitif to drink while we looked at the menuen, that we expected to get shortly We were told, that we had to wait "5 to 7 minutes" to order from another waiter......we all found that a bit strange, and oddly spicific "5 to 7 minutes"? When we got our menuen the waiter was annoyed with us that we already wanted to order drinks, and we didn't get to order for everyone befor the waiter was gone again, but after a trie more everyone had ordered what they would drink for the meal

Half the menuen wasn't available, and the waiter seemed a bit frustrated that he had to wait for people that now had to make a new choice from the menue

It went on like that, it was always a bit awkward when we talked with the waiter

We tried to order deserts but "no, we don't have deserts here"

We are all used to go out and eat, so it is definitely not because we don't know "the code" to resturant visits

I definitely recommend to eat here, but remember to bring humor and laugh a little by the strange behavior of the staff

We had a good evening, but it would have been really easy for the staff to have made it an absolutely perfect experience, but that seems to not be they're...

Visited Gusto, and upon sitting down, we did our drinks order, which came relatively quickly, but that was where it ended. We then sat at the table for an hour and a half, still waiting for our food and not even the waiter came back within that time to see if we wanted another drink, let alone to apologise for the delay in getting the food. It took a couple of our party to actually walk into the restaurant and say we were all going as this was totally unacceptable, and as if by magic suddenly, the food was coming out in 5 minutes. We then waited another 15 minutes before we actually got our food. They did give us our drinks free, but it was a sham from start to finish, which was a shame because the food was quite nice. Very bad experience so I won't be visiting there again. If you have plenty of time to spare and only like one drink every 90 minutes and don't mind not seeing any waiting staff all night, this might be the place for you? Wow,...

I would say that the atmosphere and the spot of the restaurant are mainly the good points of this place. The food is mediocre,simply tasty but not something special. The portions are poor and the cost is just ok. Neither too expensive nor cheap. The waiter who served us was kind and smiley but the head of the staff was a bit arrogant and not so welcoming. He tended to choose tables for customers who he preferred for his reasons ,he forgot mentioning to the chefs that we did not want a specific herb on our food, thus we asked them to take it back, and in the end he did not bring us the receipt for our bill. We paid based on the order slip that the serving sends to the kitchen and he showed us as a receipt believing that we would not say anything. Perhaps paying by credit card is the appropriate way for this restaurant. Tip..if you want to have the same sea view ,you can have a nice ice cream at the shop next to it. It won't cost...
