Whether you choose to dine in the beautifully designed indoor space or on the rooftop, the atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The highlight, however, is undoubtedly the food. Chef Kostas, who could easily be Michelin-starred, showcases his 25 plus years of culinary expertise with an incredible selection of fresh seafood, each dish perfectly prepared to honor Greek traditions. I've reviewed many top-tier restaurants across Greece and the USA, but "Istories tou Barba" surpasses them all. This restaurant, run by Chef Kostas offers an authentic taste of Greece with every bite—far superior to the more tourist-driven spots scattered around the city. For those looking to experience real Greek seafood, this is the place. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are spot on, and the staff couldn't be friendlier, providing excellent service with a smile. Skipping "Istories tou Barba" during your time in Athens would be a missed opportunity. Surprised to have such delicious sea food in that area. Very friendly staff and management. Although the area around is very busy once you get up there you just avoid all the noise. A lovely roof top area is available during spring time. Be aware that summer time might be closed as they transfer their services to a Greek island ( I think Skyros island). Fresh sea food with a nice twist on their recipes. A bit far when staying downtown but definitely worth...

Σπιτική Θάλασσα και Μνήμη σε ένα σκυριανό εστιατόριο στην καρδιά του Ηρακλείου (Αττικής)

Αν αυτό το μαγαζί ήταν διήγημα, θα το είχε γράψει ο Καββαδίας με πένα βουτηγμένη σε μαγειρίτσα.

Πίσω από μια ντροπαλή πόρτα, κρύβεται ένας χώρος που δεν θέλει να σε εντυπωσιάσει – θέλει να σε κάνει να θυμηθείς.

Η Μακαρονάδα του Ψαρά σε πηγαίνει πίσω στο Πάσχα της παιδικής αυλής – δεν το επιδιώκει, απλώς το καταφέρνει.

Η Καλαμαράτα όμως... Αυτή δεν σε γυρίζει πίσω – σε τραβάει έξω. Σε παίρνει απ’ το βουνό και σε αφήνει μεσοπέλαγα, την ώρα που πέφτει ο ήλιος. Δεν σε προειδοποιεί. Δεν φωνάζει. Απλώς φεύγει – κι εσύ μαζί της.

Ακόμα και το ψωμί – ναι, το ψωμί – είναι βαρύ σαν μνήμη και ελαφρύ σαν σκάλα στην αυλή.

Τα υπόλοιπα (δοκιμάσαμε επτά) κινούνται στην ίδια συναισθηματική σφαίρα – χωρίς ούτε ένα να προδώσει τη γεύση ή την πρόθεσή του.

Αν ψάχνεις το ωφέλιμο μέσα στην ποίηση: Τιμές: 20–25€ το άτομο

Ιδανικό για: παρέες που τρώνε με επίγνωση

Κράτηση: χρειάζεται – μην βρεθείς προ εκπλήξεως

Πήγαινε μόνο αν δεν ψάχνεις πειραγμένη κουζίνα. Και αν αντέχεις την αλήθεια χωρίς φίλτρο στο πιάτο.

Για μένα; Από τα ελάχιστα μέρη που δεν μου ζήτησαν να τα καταλάβω – μου είπαν απλώς: «Κάτσε.»

I hope everyone is seeing my review!! This is a real seafood of first class. Everything was SO PERFECT. The food, the service, the staff, the hygiene of the place the decoration and everything. We were 5 people and we have the same opinion. I can say that it is affordable not expensive at all!! Our bill was 90€ with 2 L/wine and fresh fishes and salad. We couldnt take photos well because we ate immediately but here are some.

I hope everyone is seeing my review!! This is a real seafood of first class. Everything was SO PERFECT. The food, the service, the staff, the hygiene of the place the decoration and everything. We were 5 people and we have the same opinion. I can say that it is affordable not expensive at all!! Our bill was 90€ with 2 L/wine and fresh fishes and salad. We couldnt take photos well because we ate immediately but here are some.
