Visited the restaurant after reading good reviews about it. Hate to say, completely disagree with those reviews. The place is dated and unpleasant inside. It was crowded too, very noisy and smells were coming out of the kitchen to the dining room. The staff was very kind and helpful. Quality was just a low level tavern one. Nothing special at all. Salad and chips barely had a flavour. The local cheese (formaela) was badly cooked and was very dry and hard to chew. As a main dish we ordered a gioulbase. It's a traditional dish with two kinds of meat wrapped and baked in the oven. More than half of what I got was bones... My date ordered pasta with red sauce. They served her pasta with a spoonful of sauce on them, you could barely see it. Basically it was just plain pasta. Wine was ok, probably the only thing that wasn't bad. Way overpriced for that quality... I gave it two stars because of the kind personnel, otherwise it would deserve 0 stars. Sorry, not...

The tavern was full for dinner, the staff was nice and helpful and we were seated fast.
We ordered tzadziki and greek salad which were average, I mean we already tried quite a lot of appetizers in other taverns and this was definitely not the best.
Wild pork burger with cheese was very good, but sausage was not that great. So, the only dish that deserved high rating was this stuffed burger.
Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed our dinner , but our high expectations because of the super high rating of the place were definitely not matched. In my opinion the place is bit overrated.
Update!! After going to 5+ other place I'm confident that's definitely not the best tavern in Kalavryta. There're at least 2 other taverns in the adjacent street that are way ahead in both food...
Read moreWe came because of the reviews, but honestly, I was disappointed. We were five people. We ordered pork ribs, veal skewer, sausage, salad, and pastitsio. Aside from the pork ribs, everything else wasn’t very good.
In addition, without us asking, they placed two bottles of mineral water on the table (in other places in town, unlike what used to be the custom, they serve glasses of tap water or a bottle of tap water on the table), and they also put bread on the table which costs 1 euro per person.
At least the glass of wine was cheap.
In short, the food wasn’t great, and mainly the high expectations were shattered. Not recommended. It seems there are plenty of other places—I’d try...
