We came up on the amazing little train journey from Diakopto and, looking for a place for lunch, were intrigued to find a place with a rare 4.9 stars on Google reviews.
The town was fairly deserted (late September) and we were the only customers but they were immediately welcoming and attentive. We ordered louganikos local sausage and a Greek salad but were also treated to a complimentary and very tasty grilled pepper stuffed with ham and cheese.
I’ve had local sausage in Greek many times but this was undoubtedly the best. Loads of texture and taste and not too salty. Expertly grilled. And huge - two large sausages with chips and salad.
The Greek salad was equally good and the barrel wine was nice too. Plus bread and water. They don’t serve any kind of coffee which was a bit strange but what we had was excellent. The bill came with complimentary ‘chocolate tiffin’
The bill was the big surprise. What was effectively three courses plus wine €22.50. I now know why it gets such good ratings. Fabulous. Please go there: You won’t...

Our child had the pork souvlaki, and it was delicious and juicy. The other child had pasta carbonara, which was also excellent. We tried local house wines (rose and red), but we didn’t really like them. The fried cheese was tasty, but not the best we’ve had. The service was good, and the waiter was polite. He didn’t speak English very well, but it wasn’t a problem for us. At the end, they gave us a small but very tasty dessert — a nice touch. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the restaurant is nicely located on the main square across from the church. Dinner for four cost around 100 euros — not cheap, especially since some dishes were...
Read moreI recommend a visits to anynone who's in the area. Amazing experience all around. Restaurant is on the very quiet and peaceful main square with an amazing owner/waiter/cook, all in one from what I understood. He doesn't speak English very well, but that didn't matter. We ordered without a problem while pointing fingers and few basic words. Food was delicious and the portions were generous. After finishing our meals, we got a complementary watermelon, which was also amazing. 10/10 experience, will come back, if I ever find myself on the...
