I visited here tonight with my lovely wife on our final night at Kalymnos. I can say we certainly saved the best till last! This taverna is filled with the soul and passion of the owner who greets you with a captain’s salute as you walk into the restaurant. We chose one of the specials with Greek salad to start, fish and chips and a half bottle of red wine. The owner even brought out an extra jug of wine for us. I opted for a dessert too. The food was excellent and atmosphere typically Greek. The staff are warm and friendly with. The prices are keen - our meal was €32 for both of us excluding the dessert which is in no means a reflection on the quality of the food, which was excellent. Don't get me wrong, you'll still see a few tourists dining here, but being right next to a beach with near to zero touristic infrastructure, Seeing young greek couples, groups of friends and families arriving to spend a few hours in a nice beach, makes me think of what other places in these beautiful island might have one looked like. As for the fish tavern, this place was recommended by a native Kalymnos guy currently living in Kos.
