Mamouzelos Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Kalymnos

I visited Marmouzelous tonight and was disgusted by the way my partner and I were treated. After waiting at the entrance for a while with no acknowledgement besides dirty looks, my partner politely asked the man behind the bar (presumably the manager/owner) if there was space for two. He first shouted “What!” aggressively, and then “No!” in an intimidating manner. It was hostile, rude, and completely unprofessional. This left us feeling disappointed on our last night in Kalymnos. When confronted the staff, they showed zero accountability and dismissed me. As someone from Kalymnos who lives in the UK and comes back every year, I’ve never witnessed such appalling behaviour. Marmouzelous is an embarrassment to the island’s hospitality and I will never return and strongly advise others...

We stopped by the restaurant the night before and made a reservation for 8:00 PM yesterday. After wandering around for a bit, we returned and specifically requested a table by the beach. The owner-like manager said, "Okay, don't worry," so we left. When we arrived at 8:00 PM last night, they offered us a table inside. The dark, skinny waiter with tattoos rudely replied, "I don't know who made your reservation, there's no seating outside," and dismissed it. No apology, no attempt to help, and they don't care if the customer is unhappy. It's a shame. I still remember the good taste when I went three years ago, but I see the place has been spoiled. If they had been sincere, we would have eaten inside, but their rude behavior alone forced us to leave and eat elsewhere....

My visit to Kalymnos was in itself a dream trip as I met old friends and school mates of whom I had only the fondest of memories. The Mamouzelos seafood restaurant was just another dream visit. The grilled octapus and the fried squid accompanied with medium sized prawns in tomato sauce, were something out of this world. No doubt about it, those kalymnians know how to cook and serve seafood.
