Manias fish tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Kalymnos

I am afraid that this is not the best in town, as many reviewers are saying, although it is very popular with the locals. I wonder why, maybe they get something different?! Anyway, oysters and "special"mussels were good and fresh, but it is difficult to mess up something that is served almost fresh from the sea. The calamares were a tiny portion and tasted gummy, not sweet as we have been promised. The price, 16e was fairly salted though. Fried zucchini were a big portion, but totally tastless, like cardboard. Are the Greek chefs afraid of salt? We did not get anything complimentary out of the cuisine, which is a custom in other places and we paid about 25-30% more for mediocre quality. So, not a good value for money...

This is the best tavern in Kalymnos Marina. Thanks to the owner Mikhalis, who serves personally and gives recommendations according to your preferences and not to the bill. The food is fresh, the freshly baked and still warm bread is fantastic. As we saw that on every table, it is definitely a usual service, not just our personal luck. We went through salads and seafood and ever thing was fresh, tasty and very well prepared.
