Ammos Beach Cocktail Bar Kos — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

With so much choice along the coastline finding a beach bar/restaurant that ticks ALL the boxes can be difficult. Most important for us are good amenities and space rather than cramming as many people as possible into one small area. First and foremost Ammos has a nice size parking area and as you walk down towards the beach area you will be greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. Feeling a little sunburnt (typical Brit) we opted for the kiosk beds at 30 euros but there are much cheaper options. The kiosk came with a lovey fresh fruit salad consisting of grapes, various melon and pineapple, this came also with a bucket of Ice, a bottle of water and a glass of Prosecco once again delivered to us by a very friendly smiley chap making us feel incredibly welcome. The water is absolutely crisp clear and fish swimming around your ankles are visible without even having to dunk your head in. The restaurant area had the option of shade or sun and the area itself is quite large and despite being busy we didn’t have to wait too long before ordering and similar amount of time for drinks to arrive. I went for the Greek salad and Ammo’s chips which is like a Greek salad with chips but that’s fine for me as I do like a Greek salad. The Ammos chips are I suppose the Greek equivalent of dirty fries and were superb, the Greek salad also was a little different with blended olives and whipped feta but very, very good. With the food we had an aperol spritz and a mandarin spritz of which both were a bit too sweet and slightly out of gas so not the best but it did not affect our overall experience. A beautiful place to relax, but yesterday's situation is something.... Absolutely unprofessional service and disrespect for customers. It was my birthday, I planned to spend the whole day at the Ammos beach bar. Specially for this we rented a car and came from the other side of the island. At the entrance and taking order, no one informed us that the opening hours of the bar were changed today because of the wedding event. After 2.5 hours, we get information that there will be a wedding and we have to leave within half an hour. Okay we are... at least a little, but stayed there, but some others came half an hour before this, ordered food and drinks and then they are asked to leave. This is simply unacceptable. We used to go here many times and I recommended this place to everyone, but after this I will think three times whether it's worth going here...

We went to this bar today, on instagram they show you the most beautyfull cocktails in a glas. You need to pay 15 euros if you want to sit on some beds, and you will get some fruit and water with it. but we thought it would be nice for the pictures with the cocktails. The bar keeper came down with some plasic cups, for half full of ice, some dead plant decoration and some old fruit. I told this to him, that we especially came here for the cocktails, but he told us that they dont serve the cocktails in glass now, and more ice because of the weather… well thats something they need to say before you order.
