We did not eat here due to the incredible rudeness of the staff. We had booked well in advance and were assured that the restaurant was easily accessible for wheelchairs and baby strollers. We had specified that we might be a bit late since we were a group with a disabled person and a child. Indeed, we were a few minutes late, which accumulated to 15 minutes due to the entrance being very inconvenient for transporting my disabled father. For us, this was not a problem at all, but incredibly, a member of the staff rudely told us that our table had been given to others because we were late (!). It was pointless to point out that the delay was also due to the inadequate entrance for wheels, and they refused us the various free tables. I couldn't believe my ears. The staff's attitude was arrogant and hurried, as if to say "we have plenty of customers, we certainly don't need you," and they had the audacity to reassign a promised table to a group with a disabled man and a small child. I don't know how they cook, but after this bully-like attitude, I felt more like vomiting than eating. Congratulations for the Guinness, 20 years coming to Greece to appreciate the kindness of this beautiful people, and this is instead the worst reception ever received in my...
Read moreThis was our second time visiting Leros this year, and once again, our choice for lunch was Pirofani Tavern, right next to Panteli Beach. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming — it feels like you’ve known them forever. The hospitality is on another level; for example, when we ordered two beers, the waiter suggested bringing just one first so we could share, and then serving the second later so it would be perfectly ice cold. Little touches like this make you feel genuinely cared for.
We had a wonderful lunch experience. In the morning, right after settling at the beach, we stopped by to make a lunch reservation, and when we arrived at the agreed time, our table was ready, waiting for us. For dinner, it’s best to reserve a couple of days in advance, as it gets very busy.
As for the food — everything was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. We ordered a variety of meze dishes, each one better than the last. The grilled seafood was perfectly cooked, the dips were rich and tasty, and the vegetables were bursting with freshness. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients.
Next time we’re in Leros, Pirofani will definitely be our first stop for a meal — whether it’s lunch by the sea or a cozy dinner...
Read moreI usually only write good reviews and skip unsatisfactory experiences if it is about the food. My rating would be 4 for the food, not mindblowing but worth a try. However the manners were unacceptable. We ordered tuna tartar, our waiter strongly recommended tuna tataki instead, we said that is not our taste, he insists, we decide to give it a try. Just one bite, not possible for us to eat, let alone enjoy. He says no problem, brings tartar instead immediately. All good. He attends us all night, when we ask for the check, he sends the busboy to bring the check, both tataki and tartar are charged. He disappears and busboy has no authority, we pay full amount not to argue and ruin our night. It is very disappointing to experience this in Leros, where in all other places you will be treated in a very welcoming, well intentioned and amicable way. It is not about paying one dish extra, it is about why we choose Leros over other places...
