Taverna Artemis — Restaurant in Municipality of Markopoulo Mesogaias

The fish is a fresh as you can get! The Calamari is the best and not frozen like most places meaning it is so tender and not chewy. The fish can be cooked to your liking and served with a ice cold beer or a glass of wine over looking the sea. Make sure you have your bug spray if you go after sunset as the surrounding trees are home to mosquito's. The only reason for knocking a star off is because although you get welcomed when you arrive and you are given a table fast, if the restaurant is a little busy, you kind of get forgotten about which has happened a few times. You are left waiting to order for some time but the disappointment goes away when food arrives and is delicious until the wait to be served for dessert comes. A small taverna on the beach - from which you have a very nice view on the sea by the way - with great prices, fresh fish - which you can choose yourself and which is sold by weight - so you can decide yourself how much you want to eat. All non-alcoholic drinks cost 1,90€ (2023) - compared to our hotel (which is next door - 5€), also the other prices are very moderate. The food is great, the service friendly. First of all have to say that people love to eat here, really a lot of people... 😁 It's an amazing panoramic view which gives a really special joy while dining here. The waiters are extremely polite and attentive even though they are "running" a lot to serve all this "hungry crowd" 😉. So many people here are... All seafood is definitely fresh, nothing gets frozen, the cooks are the masters of their job as the food gets really delicious! And the prices are so pleasant here, I haven't eaten in a cheaper place in Greece so far. So bravo! I definitely would farely recommend...
