Myself and my boyfriend were really looking forward to this place. Unfortunately we received really poor service and would never come back. First of all we attended the beach and were told there were no sunbeds left with parasols, even though we booked one month in advance. We were given one of the last drabs of shadeless sunbeds right at the back.
We had lunch booked for 2.30pm but we're not called when our table was ready so we made our own way into the restaurant/bar area. There's no shelter from the wind in this place so sat in the lounge part. Sofas are hard but tolerable to sit on.
We sat and waited for someone to attend the table with menus, after 25 minutes of being seated, around 6 waiting staff frequently passing by we had to get up and ask for menus ourself. We then waited another 30 minutes for someone to come to take our order. Tables at either side of us were seated and accommodated well but we were ignored. Again I had to get up and ask for our order to be taken. It had been 1 hour since we were seated and we were only just ordering. Bearing in mind the restaurant wasn't busy (plenty of free tables) and lots of waiting staff hanging around doing not much.
We then waited at least 30 minutes for food to arrive. Again, tables at either side gave their orders after us but received all their food first. We ordered bread and olives to start, sea bream & orzo & chicken skewer. The olives and bread arrived 10 minutes after starting our main meals rather than as a starter which was strange and not something you would expect as a starter. I will say the food was really good. The chicken was so flavourful and the fish was fresh, but there wasn't enough of it in the orzo dish to really call it a fish dish. There's were only a few fish pieces and I would have expected a lot more for the price.
We waved the waiter 4 times (they saw us but didn't come over) before having to raise our voices to catch them to get the bill. No one then came over to ask how we wished to pay so 20 minutes more of waiting, frustratingly I had to get up and walk to the counter yet again to pay the bill. We were also charged for a full bottle of water, and were only offered half a glass each when we first sat down. Not once we're we topped up with water or were left with the bottle to have it ourselves.
Overall we're really disappointed in the service and feel like it was such a waste of money and time. We would have gone to another beach club if we knew it would be this bad. If I could have not paid them, then I would have. You don't expect to go somewhere like this and get such rubbish service and rude, inattentive staff.
Parking is also €10 on a dirt track. Just to keep in mind.
We attended Pasaji Beach club a few days ago and the service was so much better than here.
We would be happy to be contacted by management to discuss...
Read moreUnfortunately this is one of the few places that I visited where staff made me feel unwanted and, especially, discriminated. From starters, we had a reservation and, at the door, when we kindly informed that we were there because we had reserved a table, the first thing the “hostess” answered was “Are you sure you have a reservation?” with a disgusted face and even without checking the reservations list.
After around 5 minutes of insisting that we didn’t have a reservation, she finally and “magically” found it. At the table and at the exact moment we seat, we were immediately informed by the “manager” that we had 2 hours to eat and be there.
After that, the service that already started really bad, just got worse and worse at every minute passed. They stopped serving us, we needed to call the waiter and almost begging please for serve us something (always with the warning that we had to go). We asked for a table near the beach and the DJ booth, that was rejected (where were free tables without any reservation and that stayed that way).
After they get what they want, we payed the tab and stayed and observed for a while the functioning of the service in general at Alegàmou. Sadly they prefer to have a free table than to have someone there consuming. In general, a very bad and discriminatory “welcome”, service is terrible, staff looked lost, a “supposedly manager” that was rude and extremely unprofessional discriminating us for our image and citizenship. The food is good, drinks too. They have a good wine and cocktails list. The place (and decoration) are good, the ambiance is nice too, but service… terrible. Very expensive to be treated like garbage. I don’t recommend this place at all. It just don’t...
Read moreWe had one of the worst customer service experiences we’ve ever encountered at Alemagou.
Our company booked a dinner and party table for 8 people months in advance as part of our annual trip. We paid a large deposit in full by bank transfer on 4th June (confirmed by our bank as received on 6th June). Despite this, Alemagou repeatedly denied having received the payment for over a month. We were asked multiple times for proof of payment, and only after my Director called directly did they suddenly “find” the money that had been in their account all along.
On the night of the reservation, the situation became even worse. Despite having a written confirmation email of our dinner and table booking, the staff were rude, dismissive, and unaccommodating. They tried to push the blame onto us, claiming we hadn’t “reconfirmed” the booking, when in fact we had everything agreed in writing. In the end, we were denied the dinner we had booked and paid for, and were only permitted into the party area.
The entire process was chaotic, unprofessional, and frankly unacceptable — from the month-long denial of payment, to the failure to deliver the agreed service, to the disrespectful treatment of our team on the night. We've attempted to raise this formally and privately with Alemagou, but they have chosen not to respond at all.
Given the reputation Alemagou tries to present, this experience was shocking and incredibly disappointing. If you are considering booking here, be...
