Karma Suites Ftelia Mykonos Greece — Hotel in Municipality of Mykonos

I stayed at this hotel from 21 July 2021 to 30 July 2021 through booking.com, We had really high hopes after seeing all the pics and really regret not going through all the reviews.

This is a private villa in the middle of Fetiya which is about 2km away from the main road to the Old Port. Unless you get your own mode of transport, there is no way of getting to this villa by public transport. This could be the reason why in the description of the booking site, the owner has mentioned that there is free airport transfer included in the price. However, when we requested this, the owner said that there is no free transfers and this is a mistake.

Prior to our arrival, we informed the owner of our estimated time of arrival, however, when we arrived at the villa, there was no one to give us the key. We had to call a Swiss number, several times which was answered by the owner after about an hour. The Greek number is for the cleaning lady and she does not speak English.

We booked the room for two people, yet we were given only one key, meaning we had to literally plan our moves to the last second or hand out with each other all the time so that neither of us will have to wait for one another.

We then tried to log into wifi as we both had to check work emails from time to time and, we could not connect to WIFI, as there is no information in the room. We then tried to use the safe in the villa to put our valuables, then realised that the safe is not working. We messaged the owner politely, to fix these issues. NO ANSWER.

We then started to see more issues, dirty mattress, bathroom door handle falling off, defective light in the bathroom, and so on. We tried to get hold of the owner, and no answer to our calls or messages.

After 3 days, after calling our booking company, the owner called us, and we really hope that the owner will understand our problems and try to come up with solutions.

Unfortunately, the owner said, that we should have booked a hotel room, and not a room in her villa. She told us that she is in Switzerland, and she cannot help us. She told us to check out if we are not happy, but we will not get a refund. Basically, the owner said that we should not complain as we have booked a room in a villa. However, she did not understand, that we were simply asking for facilities that we have paid for via our reservation.

So do not be surprised if you do not find the same situation if you book this hotel. So listen to the owner and book a...

the room was very nice and clean with a beatuful view of the sea. there is a small fridge, a coffeemachine for illy capsules (nespresso doesnt fit!), a shower with soap and shampoo, clean towels and mosquito nets for the windows. the beach is just in front and in 15minutes you can go up to the main road, where there is a 24h bakery that has very good prices, warm dishes, coffee and a big variety of sweet and savory breads. the location is very calm and nice, also perfect to go for little hikes...

Hatten 3 Wochen gebucht... nichts ausser Enttäuschung. Die Zimmer waren recht nett eingerichtet aber es fehlten zb Leselampen, Badematte, das eine Nachlämpchen ging gar nicht, die nassen Handtücher konnte man nur auf den Stühlen draussen aufhängen, keine Mülltüten in den Mülleimern. Nach 6 Tagen wurde der ganze Müll nicht weggeräumt, und die Zimmer wurden nicht gereinigt, so dass wir es selber machen mussten. Wir hatten einen ganzen Tag kein Klopapier mehr! Als wir die Eigentümerin darauf hingewiesen hatten, meinte sie, es wäre doch "unser" Müll und er würde uns dann "stinken" wenn wir den Müll im Zimmer lassen würden. Sehr unprofessionnel und frech!! Wir entschieden uns nach 12 Tagen das Hotel zu wechseln, mussten allerdings die gesamten 3 Wochen zahlen. Wir haben dann gesagt ok wenn wir so oder so gezahlt haben, dann wohnen wir eben in 2 Hotels. Als wir in das neue Hotel eingecheckt hatten, gingen wir nach 2 Stunden in das Karma Suites zurück und stellten fest dass sie all unser Gepäck vor die Tür gesetzt hatten und das Zimmer geräumt obwohl wir gesagt hatten wir blieben in beiden Hotels weil wir ja gezahlt hatten.... Nach ein paar Tagen fuhren wir wieder vorbei und mussten feststellen dass sie "unser" bereits gezahltes Zimmer weiter vermietet hatte. DAS SCHLIMMSTE HOTEL/ROOMS EVER !!!...
