This place was recommended by the owner of our Airbnb, so as we planned our itenery we pencilled this meal as part of the outing to the excellent, family friendly small secluded beach just at the bottom of Kiki's. As many mentioned before, the Owner Vasilis came crossed as a passionate, down to earth type of Restaurateur who cares greatly how people enjoys his dishes, and is absolutely contented to stay where Kiki's is rather than expanding to twice the size of the tavern which I have no doubt he'll easily fill. We sampled the excellent salad, Grilled Squid and Grilled Octopus, all were of the top quality, just enough cooking and they stayed succulent and juice, but at the same time perfectly charred and smelt heavenly. As a meal goes, with the location settings, personnel, quality of food, this was the best overall we've experienced on Mykonos. Make it your must visit during Open Season (May - Mid Oct) and you will not regret it. We were extremely lucky to have had the chance to sampled the dishes, as he said they will close for the season at the end of this week, and he will return to just outside Athens where he has an Olive Grove to carry out the Harvest, and they will shut until May 2024. As Salivis said, he couldn't care less what our reviews say about Kiki's on the Internet, all he wants is for you to go there and taste the food they serve for yourselves. He is the definition of Food Hero, make great simple dishes with great quality fresh produce. For us, it was an unforgettable day, perfect lunch on a cliff, with a backdrop of crystal touquise sea and sandy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocal transitional Greek restaurant by the beach with sea view. We visited this place with a large group of friends after spending the day at the beach Agios Stefanos near by, which was recommended by local friends. There are no reservations for this place so one of our group who didnāt want to stay on the beach waiting on the que for about 2 hours before we could have a table, there was no other way to get a table which is very inconvenient. Most of the fish dishes are not fresh by frozen and there is a notice on the menu for it with a ā*ā. The menu is small but there is nearly everything you would wish for. We had selection salad from there salad bar, stuffed chicken, pork stake, fresh whole fish, Greek salad and grilled octopus. Their salads selection from their salad bar are quite small but tasty while the pork stake was delicious and very large which is indeed the most recommended dish. The stuffed chicken and the fresh fish was good too. We had also house wine. We paid 38ā¬/ person which is reasonable for Mykonos. The staff is friendly and kind. The only bad thing was the waiting time and the small/uncomfortable...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolute hidden gem on the island. We accessed the place on a quad bike we hired and showed up to a full restaurant. You wait outside and get plied with free wine and water. We waited about 25/30 mins and apparently the queues are 3 times as long in the summer. Thereās a brilliant host (always in flamboyant shorts, possibly the owner) who talks to you and keeps you updated. Food wise you need a salad plate for yourself. The salads are out of this world, truly. i think thereās about 20 to chose from inside. Beetroot salad, tomato, mozzarella, pinenut and curried chicken were personal highlights for me.
We both ordered a stuffed chicken, it was huge far too much for one each and I eat, A LOT. The chicken was soft, juicy and freshly bbqād. All in all it wasnāt expensive really, especially for Mykonos where stuff can be eyewateringly expensive. along with Mamalouka and Remezzo it was the best food we ate on the island.
It was a cloudy cold day when we went and it was still beautiful, can imagine itās even...
