SUNSET — Restaurant in Municipality of Mytilene

We had to wait like 5 minutes to the right waiter able to speak some decent English. We ordered mushrooms cooked in Greek style and fried balls as starters than as main dishes pasta with sea food and grilled sardines. Mushrooms were cooked with onions and laurels and feta. The grilled sardines were not that fresh I had to add salt and lemon in order to have some taste. The pasta was too well cooked and on the traditional linguine allo scoglio which is the pasta with sea food it is not mentioned to add cheese as instead they took.

I had a very bad experience there for the cats.

After I started to eat the sardines they were coming one after one three - four cats and the waitress was specifying that they were not them cats. They were close to the table two of them were under the table. I started to be afraid and that kind of answer made me feel even worsted! At half meal I wanted to leave it was my boyfriend that he started to take them far and then the waitress only once came with a bit of water in order to move them away.

By the end of the evening the waiter that was able to talk English was telling that the only way to avoid cats surrounding customers is with electric machines and it’s not cat friendly. I could check only afterwards that there are many natural products to just take the cats far from the customers… no this is a place that I do not recommend to even the worst of my enemies. This bad experience with how the waiters were dealing with the cats and with the food. I think that there are better places around than this restaurant… I guess that it is not by chance that they are not on...

The most terrible service & reception I’ve had in all Greece and I’ve been to many islands. It was almost 30 minutes since our arrival and we still haven’t managed to find the waiter to order. One person is ONLY responsible of showing tables and doesn’t receive orders. One other person is ONLY responsible of bringing and collecting plates/glasses and doesn’t receive orders. And the one that does with that “fancy” attitude starts from the wrong order of customers and started noting down orders from customers who arrived a lot later than us. Then he approached us and silently said “sorry I can’t take orders from you, there is a queue” after taking orders from the next table who came at the same time with us, and then moved inside and received orders from another large table. Besides, it’s the only place I’ve seen in Lesvos and in other islands too that doesnt offer complimentary water (so it’s also a thirsty 30 minutes of waiting) and we couldn’t resolve the problem because guess what - there is no one to take an order! The bread they bring comes with MARGARINE - god this place is a scandal. And the funny thing is they as for a cover charge per person. So we dropped a 5 note on the table which is a lot more than the cover for 3. Hope they use it for good.

I hope they don’t treat everyone like this. Not for the sake of restaurant LOL but for the sake of clueless...

We returned the meal because my wife found a hair in her chicken with cream(almost 2 cm in length). But this is not the worst part. The waiter (badge name: Dimitri) said that it’s been 15 minutes since the meal was served, maybe the hair is from someone from out (i think he intended us). Instead, we would ecpext him to say simply sorry. I tried to explain the situation but it was hard to communicate with him. At one point he raised his hands and shouted me like “don’t shoot” as intending like I am pressing him so much and that was extreamly rude. My intention was just to explain appoologizing is better option in the cases like this. They served another plate later but we were already concerned about their attitute, and couldn’t eay).
