το ξυλοφουρνάκι — Restaurant in Municipality of Nafpaktia

Visited here around 530 as they opened. The pizza oven was flaming but not quite ready so we had to wait a bit as they got it together. We had walked 20 minutes and waiting for half an hour for the pizza oven to come online was a risky choice...

It paid off. The pizza (I got the Cretan) was delicious, great base and flavourful fresh topping. My wife got Penne Arrabiatta and it was also delicious. Well priced too. With drinks we paid 18 euros for one of the better meals we've had in Greece. Friendly staff put up with our screaming kid too.

The view across the beach was not bad either. A good choice if you're staying a night...

We went and waited for good half an hour without being served. The place was nearly empty and the waiter asked many times the owner to come and take our order. But he was too busy doing nothing and avoid us. Therefore, we left. From what I saw, the pizza did not even look good (an Italian speaking). A wasted wood oven. And certainly the owner is not doing the right job, he does not know how to run a restaurant, he does not know what φιλοξενία is and he should rather guard sheeps. Stay away...
