An absolute hidden gem, that we nearly missed when walking through the streets of Filoti. It's only just off the main street, but can be easy not to see. Easily the best food we ate in our entire stay in Greece - and a real highlight of the whole trip - during which time we visited Athens, Naxos, and Paros. We had a lovely chat to the owner over lunch, who explained that he and his wife run the restaurant, with him front of house, and her as chef. We had two mains - stuffed calimari, and their variation on a shrimp dish - and both were exceptional. Unlike every other place we visited, these guys made unique dishes that were variations on traditional Greek cuisine. It was also very fairly priced. Read moreI have been traveling to Greece for 25 years and have dined in many places. Now, I also live on Naxos. This was the best experience for my palate that I have ever had. There were three of us there, and each of us had a big smile on our faces. The restaurant was empty when we arrived since the weather was not perfect and it was not yet peak season. Yes, we had to wait 20 minutes, but that was a sign that everything was being prepared fresh. The 20-minute wait was worth it.
