Today, we visited Luuma Beach Bar in Nea Flogita, and unfortunately, it was by far the worst beach bar experience we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that families with children are not welcome here. As soon as the staff saw my spouse and me with our three children, their attitude changed noticeably – it was obvious we weren’t the kind of guests they prefer. This venue seems to prioritize young women of questionable morals and the men who can afford to fund their needs.
At the entrance, we were immediately told about the minimum spending rules: the first two rows require a minimum consumption of €100, while the third and fourth rows require €60. From the very start, the staff hovered over us, giving off an uncomfortable vibe as if watching our every move. They were pushy and borderline aggressive in encouraging us to order, with comments like "What are you waiting for?"
To make matters worse, a hostess – who appeared to be there more for her looks than for hospitality – approached us and bluntly stated, “Just so you know, you must order at least €60,” completely unaware that we had already spent €40 at the bar upstairs for lunch. This level of unprofessionalism was shocking. The staff overall exuded negative energy, and it was clear from their stares that families with children are considered undesirable here.
The music was extremely loud, making it difficult to relax or have a conversation. And now, the worst part – the prices. Outrageously overpriced would be an understatement. A simple omelet costs €13, a toast €8, a small beer in a PLASTIC cup (barely 250ml) €6, and a mojito – which lacked brown sugar, had minimal alcohol, a single mint leaf on the side, and was 90% ice – cost €11. It’s not only overpriced but also poorly made.
In conclusion, Luuma Beach Bar is a place driven by shallow priorities, inflated prices, and poor service. Unless you're coming here to flash money and fit their aesthetic ideal, you're better off staying far away. Sadly, there’s no option to give a 0-star rating, but if there were, that’s exactly what this place deserves.
Strongly NOT recommended. Avoid at all...
Read moreWe came to Luuma Beach Bar in Nea Flogita expecting a relaxing day by the sea – but what we got was stress, overpriced drinks, and the kind of treatment that makes you question why you ever came. Right from the entrance, the atmosphere was unwelcoming. As a mom with three kids, I could feel the judgment the moment we stepped in. This place is clearly not made for families – unless you're a group of party girls or guys willing to spend absurd amounts of money, you're not wanted here. The staff made that painfully obvious. They immediately listed their "rules" – €100 minimum consumption for the front rows, €60 for the others. And before we even sat down properly, a hostess approached us with the attitude of a nightclub bouncer, reminding us that we had to spend €60, even though we had just eaten upstairs for €40. The level of pressure and arrogance was off the charts. But the worst part? If you want to feel like you’re on a cheap field trip but pay like you're in a five-star resort – this is the place. Cocktails cost €15 and are served in tiny plastic cups, beers are €6 for barely 250ml (also in plastic), and there is NO trash can in sight. That’s right – plastic everywhere, and nowhere to throw it away. And now the most shocking detail: You are not allowed to drink your own water. Yes, you read that correctly. We were actually told that we could NOT drink water unless we bought it from their bar – where it’s ridiculously overpriced, as if it were bottled on top of Mount Everest. The food? Don’t even get me started. The margarita pizza was laughably small – I’ve seen larger slices at a gas station. Everything is style over substance here, and even that style is questionable. Loud music, cold service, overpriced everything, and an atmosphere that makes you feel out of place if you're not part of their "ideal guest" profile. Honestly, this was one of the worst experiences of my life when it comes to beach bars. A disaster from start to finish. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Not worth your time, money, or energy.
I’ll be posting pictures so you can see what a €15 cocktail looks like in a plastic cup...
