Toula's Seaside — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

If I could, it would be zero instead of one star.. They know what they did to us.. but in case of objections, I will happily write the full experience here too.. SHAME. Shame, disgust and disappointment for such behaviours and attitudes..

After the restaurant's response, I'm editing my review, just because I was only trying to make you guys a favour.. here we go:

I DEFINITELY asked for a very specific spot in my reservation. I have the proof of course, saved a screenshot of the reservation. I asked for "the fantastic last table on the way to the boats". Explicitly. It was also mentioned, on the dedicated reservation field, that it was "a special occasion". I called to confirm my reservation, arranged for it to be at 9pm (instead of 9:30), and the lady on the phone said that even if my table is not ready for 9, it will be ready at 9:15 maximum... to be sure, we arrived at 9:22 We were greeted in the entrance, and we were told to wait. And we just waited.....nobody came, so at 9:30 I went inside to search for someone. They found my name and reservation, and tried to put us on the fourth row of tables, around many people and a big table, far away from what was asked and agreed. When I said that we can wait to get our preferred table, we were offered a drink at the bar, until our table becomes available. To be fair here, because I'm fair, the bartender was super polite, super fun, and my cocktail was perfectly done. At 9:40, they came to take us to our table. The supervisor, ironically said "in the end it was only a 5 minute delay". It was 9:40. I had a reservation for 9:30, which was changed to 'maximum 9:15'. So probably he cannot count. They took us to the 3rd row now.. still not on the deck, still not a romantic table.. so still not our reservation. I said that we will not accept this, because it was very specifically requested, so we would wait at the bar again. The guy said 'you didn't request a specific table'.. then I showed him my reservation, with the SPECIFIC MENTION. We were still at the bar, and another person comes to me discreetly, and asks me if ours was the special occasion. I said yes, he apologised, and he promised he will make a good thing for us.. (never happened, by the way). A few minutes later, of course not intentionally, the same person broke at least 5-6 plates while carrying them, just next to me, filling my wife's and my feet with food remains from the table next to us.... gross. At 10pm, I repeat, AT 10pm SHARP, we were told our table was ready. Guess what? It still wasn't. They took us to the deck, yes, but still it was the second table, not the one asked/agreed in the reservation. And not the one for our special occasion. At 10:03 the menus were brought to us, with water. At 10:05, TWO MINUTES LATER, the waitress came to take our order. I said we need a couple of minutes more because we were only just seated, she rudely morphed and had a phase 'ok, you just came, but the kitchen people have a schedule and homes to go too'.

I had a reservation at 9:15, for a table I never got. After many many tries, and many bad events, we were seated at 10pm, 45 minutes later, to ANOTHER TABLE, with no care about my reservation or my special occasion. And after all this, we were told that we have to shut up and order (I swear it was just two minutes with the menu), because the kitchen would close, as if it was my fault to be delayed??????????

Whoever wants, can reach out to me for the e-mail screenshot of the reservation, and I can also tell you the places and restaurants I've been around the world.....

Whoever is the person from the restaurant that responded to this review earlier, go ahead and call me and tell me those things in person, otherwise be ashamed of the impression...

Second time in this restaurant, first time was in 2023 and today. We were 14 people and we had a big table, in order to book the table with them They would not accept credit card for securing the table and asked for Bank transfer only for €600. finally we managed through our hotel to solve this problem. In general we like the place and atmosphere and the service. The food was very good but two main dishes which were fish on the grill arrived super dry and not eatable , when we called the waiter We were told that we need to add sauce and they brought us sauce, but we did not accept that answer, and they brought the chef which also tried to explain the same to us. Unfortunately, we could not reach any understanding from their side and they took the two dishes back to the kitchen. Nobody offered us another dish instead nobody tried to talk to us about it and in end of the day when we came to pay, we were charged the full bill with no discount or cancellation of the two dishes when we tried to speak with the manager in charge we just heard they are not to be blamed and of course it’s not their fault and if you want to continue argue, you can stay there, but I decided to pay and go. The rest is for your judgment.

I would expect some other way of reaching to a customer specialty when we’re talking about a table of US$1500 bill, and the end of the...

Top Cuisine in a Dreamy Corfu Seaside Setting

For a last night together in Corfu, our party of four had the great pleasure of dining at Toula’s Seaside. Located just a meter or so from the water’s edge at Agni Beach, the taverna’s kitchen is presided over by head chef Toula Katsarou-Vergetis.

Every dish, including the catch of the day, was a treat and artfully presented. We enjoyed the fresh-baked bread, and I particularly savored the delicious Ionian prawns. For dessert came out the Tree Treat, a highly visual and multi-layered tasting sensation.

Two of us had the chance to visit with Toula and her husband prior to the dinner and were greatly impressed by the restaurant’s wine cellar and state-of-the-art kitchen. Toula’s restaurant has a decades-long history, and the owners’ dedication to honoring local cuisine while applying updated techniques is evident in everything they do.

The owners truly epitomize graciousness and kindness. After the dinner, our group got a bit, er, lost in the dark trying to retrace our steps to rental accommodations. Luckily for us, Toula and her husband drove past us, realized we might be lost, backed up, and gave us all a lift home. We were so grateful, needless to say!

We all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Toula’s Seaside and highly recommend the taverna to anyone...
