I never write bad reviews. In my mind taste and how we experience any event can be subjective but on this occasion I believe the service, food and experience was so bad it’s worth sharing so that others may avoid parting with their money for such a sub-standard experience.
There are so many incredible eateries in Corfu where you will find food made with love, intention and super hi quality ingredients. Agni is not one of them.
I would say profit is the intention the team are working with and that customer experience is tertiary at best. The fish may have been fresh and delicious but sadly it was drowning in overpowering seasoning and there was a bizarre chalkiness to everything. The price tag was shameful given the sparse fresh ingredients. I never mind spending money on good quality food prepared well but this actually felt like a scam on a plate I think my €30 chalky prawn risotto had no more than three prawns, three prawns that had been murdered by whatever seasoning had been used (apparently saffron but I’m not so convinced I could taste anything other than powdered boullion) I’m not going to go into every dish and critique the offer. But what I will say is that Agni is unashamedly churning out food with little attention to detail and seemingly not much care as to the experience of their diners.
That said it will suit some, the clientele were definitely of a certain demographic. There were no Greek guests that I noticed it was very London and not remotely in a good way - a sort of more money than sense kind of vibe. Anyway make of that what you will but if I was to sum it up…
Below average food, wildly overpriced and a bizarrely macho service experience. There is so much on offer on this island that will blow your mind and please your taste buds. Choose wisely this is noting more than style...
Read moreSo, We went there as it was the closest place to our rental home in Corfu and we loved the food… we ordered a lot, and our 2 year old boy loved the meatball, even though he’s usually very picky which is natural for a kid in his age. Anyways, two days later we returned because he was wanting that meatball dish that he had there but we were not hungry, only he was hungry. He slept during lunch time and naturally when he woke up he was hungry. We told the waiter that we wanted to sit for his meal and that we will be quick (to not occupy the space for just one meal even though there were a lot of empty tables) and the waiter kindly gave us a table. We ordered the meatball rightaway and he was waiting with excitement. Then, another waiter(maybe manager, not sure) came and told us that it is “not a snack place, it is a restaurant” and that he cannot give us only the meatball so he cancelled our order. I was asking him about what the harm was in for our boy to have a meal at that restaurant but he wasn’t really listening. I believe that if it was only one adult and one child, there wouldn’t be any problem in ordering just one dish. But we were 4 in total so he didn’t let us order one thing. So in the end we had to leave and came home to cook a meal for our boy in the middle of the day instead of spending time at the beach. I normally am very calm and don’t get angry easily but in this case I could not wrap my head around about why would it make sense to not let us order just one meal… It was disrespectful and...
Read moreStopped by because there of the storm in the sea. When I entered the restaurant, I was asked if we had a reservation not in a very nice way. The face of a waitress looked like she was doing as a favour by allowing to sit in the restaurant. We were waiting about 10 minutes just to get the menus, even though it was not busy in the restaurant. When the first waitress came to us, she told us that she only takes orders for the drinks and we need to wait for the other waiter to come and ask us for the food. Like hello? What kind of service is this? I asked for the blanket, because it was very cold outside and raining, but they told me that they don’t have at all. I find it strange. My friends ordered only starters and I ordered a main dish — chicken breast filled with feta and spinach with vegetables and fries. I would not say it was very bad, but for the price of 24€ it was definitely not worth it. The prices overall in this place is way higher than in the other restaurants in the city and they don’t correspond with the provided service and food quality. I would not recommend this place to anyone, as there are way more better restaurants on the island (for example “Thines” or “Thalassa”). The only positive thing I can highlight about this place is a man who helped us to...
