Travolta Athens — Restaurant in Municipality of Peristeri

(-) The location - Peristeri area is not a place in Athens that you expect to find a restaurant that specializes in sea food. Nothing bad but at the same time nothing good in regards of the area/location.

(+) The atmosphere and decor is of high standards especially very good job with secluding the restaurant sitting area from the not interesting and pretty busy road in front of the restaurant.

(+) Taste of food that we tried with the squid and the shrimp spaghetti taking the prize for us. Very well portioned and with interesting twists so to make the whole experience more interesting overall.

(+) Service was professional and attentive and people were smiling something that is always a plus.

(- +) The pricing was fair for the quality of the sea food if not a bit overpriced mainly due to the location as you expect these prices for restaurants by the sea, although the quality of the food was of high level. I found a few of their menu items overpriced like the greek salad for 13€ is too much for a restaurant in the city. Their sea food was more reasonable priced. Maybe you should adjust your pricing a bit more competitive to match the location better. The place is priced at a restaurant standard not a fish taverna and the food is cooked to the appropriate standard.

(-) They did not offered us the beer menu but only the wine menu something that I consider a bad practice. I had to ask for the beer and other drinks menu that I was only verbally informed by the waiter about the available beers and did not brought as an actual menu. I do not know if it was an intentional or a mistake that just happened.

Expect to spend: average of 30€/person without wine and dessert. average of 50+€/person with wine and dessert.

Overall a 4.0 stars for the overall experience, will definitely visit again as it is an excellent choice for the area. And will recommend for somebody who wants to have a nice sea food experience and do not want to visit a...

I decided to come here after seeing it recommended by an influencer. I made a reservation on a weekday, but it turns out there would have been space even without one. It’s about 15–20 minutes from central Athens by taxi, and I paid €10 one way via Uber.

It’s a very refined restaurant — both the food quality and the service from the waiters were top-notch. Clearly a level above the touristy spots in the city center.

We started with cocktails, and they were excellent. Then we ordered a Greek salad, which was by far the best feta salad I’ve ever had — mainly because the tomatoes were incredibly fresh and flavorful.

After that, we had: • Smoked eel on fava • Grilled red mullet skewers • Squid • Seabream carpaccio • Fried zucchini

The fried zucchini was amazing, and the red mullet was also fantastic and full of flavor. The carpaccio was nice, though a bit overpriced in my opinion.

We were very full, so we skipped dessert. We had a small glass of ouzo with the meal, which was more than enough. The bread served on the side was also very crispy and delicious.

At the end of the meal, they offered us mastiha liqueur from Chios as a treat. If there had been Greek music playing in the background, the experience would have been even better.

Overall, it was a truly unique experience. If I return to Athens, I will definitely come back. We paid €180 for two people, were completely full, and it was absolutely worth the price for...

Πρόκειται για ρεστωραν που προσπαθεί να χαρακτηρισθεί ως κατάστημα ολκής, με αρκετή θα παραδεχτώ επιτυχια, oμως θαρρώ πως η επιλογή της περιοχής δεν το βοηθει ικανοποιητικα. Είναι εξειδικευμένο με εδέσματα αποκλειστικώς θαλασσινά. Το προσωπικό πολυπληθές (ώστε να μην περιμένεις ώρα πολλη για να σε περιποιηθούν) και ευγενεστατο. Τα τραπέζια ηταν ικανοποιητικά (αν και όχι αρκουντως) μακριά το ένα από το άλλο, ώστε οι πελάτες να μην ενοχλούν ο ένας τον αλλον. Η ροτόντα που είχαμε κλείσει ήταν αρκετά μεγάλη ώστε να καθήσουμε όλοι άνετα για να ευχαριστηθουμε το φαγητό. Οι καρεκλες αναπαυτικές. Το τραπεζομάντηλο βαμβακερό, λευκό και πεντακάθαρο. Οι πετσέτες το ίδιο. Τα μαχαιροπήρουνα καθαρα, αψογα, σωστά τοποθετημένα δίπλα στα πιατα και ολόκληρο το σετ. Τα ποτήρια (κρασοποτηρα και νεροποτηρα) έλαμπαν, χωρίς δαχτυλιες στα πλαινα τους και στίγματα στόματος (κραγιόν κλπ) προηγούμενων πελατών στα χείλη τους. Τα πιάτα λευκά και αψεγάδιαστα καθαρά. Δεν θυμάμαι αν ήταν από πορσελανη. Τα φιλέτα ψητού μπαρμπουνιού άριστα ψημένα και σερβιρισμενα. Δεν έχω άποψη για τα τηγανητά καλαμαρακια που έφαγαν τα παιδιά, επειδή δεν τα δοκίμασα. Η καραβιδομακαρονάδα έξοχα βρασμένη (al dente) και σερβιρισμενη, με τα οστρακόδερμα σωστά βρασμένα, ικανού αριθμού και ορθώς μισοκαθαρισμενα. Το φαγητό έφθασε στο τραπέζι χωρίς καθυστερηση, μολονότι το κατάστημα ήταν γεμάτο από πελάτες. Ο μαιτρ ήταν συνεχώς καταπάνω μας σε όλη τη διάρκεια του γεύματος, να προσέχει τα πάντα, να ελέγχει τα πάντα και να μας ρωτάει κάθε τοσο μήπως κάτι χρειαζόμαστε. Φοβούμαι ότι η απόλυτη εξειδίκευση του καταστήματος στα θαλασσινά, ακόμα και στις σαλάτες του, μήπως έχει αγγίξει την υπερβολή. Έτσι δεν βρήκα σαλάτα του γούστου μου. Το λευκό κρασί που δοκιμασαμε ήταν στη σωστή θερμοκρασία. Δεν ξέρω αν το κατάστημα διαθετει ειδικόν somelie για βοήθεια του πελάτη στην επιλογή του σωστού κρασιου ούτε αν έχει πλούσια ή όχι καβα. Δεν έχω άποψη για τις τουαλέτες του καταστήματος (εάν είναι καθαρές, με αρκετό χαρτί, υγρό σαπούνι, κρέμα πλυσιματος και στεγνωτηρα) ούτε και για την εμφάνιση της κουζίνας του σε συνθήκες αυξημένης πελατειας (εάν το προσωπικό φορούσε ποδήρη επενδύτη, σκούφια στο κεφάλι κ.λπ. και εάν το περιβάλλον και τα σκεύη της ήταν καθαρα και τακτοποιημενα στις θέσεις τους ή ριγμένα εδώ κι εκεί, άπλυτα και γεμάτα από υπολείμματα τροφων) επειδή δεν τα επισκέφθηκα. Για τα τυριά, γλυκά και τα παγωτα επίσης δεν έχω άποψη, επειδή δεν παραγγείλαμε. Το γεγονός ότι έξω από το κατάστημα σε περιμένει υπάλληλος κατάλληλα ενδεδυμένος για να παραλάβει το όχημα σου κατά την άφιξη σου και να σου το φέρει, φευγοντας, δείχνει εναργώς σοβαρή επιχείρηση. Δεν έχω άποψη για τις τιμές, επειδή δεν πλήρωσα εγώ. Τέλος, θα πρέπει να επισημάνω ότι η πλήρης αδιαφορία για τον πελάτη από μέρους όλων των υπαλλήλων του καταστήματος, κατά την αποχωρηση του, υποδηλώνει ότι "τώρα που σου τα πήραμε και δεν σε έχουμε ανάγκη, αφήνουμε και την εξώθυρα να κλείσει μπροστά στα μούτρα σου". Απαράδεκτο ! Από μια επιχείρηση σαν την προκείμενη που επιθυμεί να εμφανίζεται ως "Υψηλών Προδιαγραφών" εγώ τουλάχιστον έχω απαίτηση να ικανοποιούμαι στο έπακρο, δηλαδη ακόμα και στην παραμικρή...
