Sea-View Restaurant, Thea Thalassa
Restaurant recommended by a good friend, right at the seaside, classic Greek Blue&White design
If you drive, reserve in advance, like everywhere in Athens parking can be most challenging!
A clean White & Blue traditional place, well appointed, (we were early. 12 noon, but when we left at around 2 packed to the brim)
Food was as expected super fresh, stand out was their Langoustine Ceviche, and the white fish (they called it hunter fish) ceviche, life clams to start! Super delicious
The Taramasalata, a Greek national dish of sorts, made with Fish Roe, Olive oil and some other “secret” ingredients, was a winner, served with squid ink pita! 💯 pointer
A unique highly seasonal Green vegetable, they call it Greek salad, slightly cooked similar to kangkong, tasty and nice!
Grilled octopus of course, quite good, pretty standard.
The whole fried Calamari were exceptional, body and tentacles fried almost Tempura style, sweet, delicious, perfect!
Various fish on offer, again super fresh, we decided upon the hunter fish, flaky, moist, perfect, just a drizzle of olive oil, little lemon! Home Run!
The Salt Baked Langoustines perfect! Loved every bite, again the simplicity of the cooking process that made the product stand out was the key!
Dessert was a taste of Baklava, nice and flaky, the Cheese Cake with Caramel, didn’t hit my sweet spot, but appears to be favourite with the locals!
Espresso was an Americano like brown soup! Didn’t care for that!
Service friendly and forthcoming, some communicated well in English
Overall happy and recommended!
Interesting to see how the Greek people go for their winter swim at 14C during the late mornings! A Strong & Sturdy bunch!

Read moreI was walking few miles to get to this Restaurant. Before reading comments i was expecting good quality. Seeing a lot of locals i was sure that i was in the right płace (that was my son’s 18th birthday sunday meal). You can tell that the food was fresh and realy tasty. Not cheap. The service was terrible. I dont know if that was because we are not locals or just foreigners but they have to learn a lot. All dishes were served In the different times. When we asked if they had desserts we heard „YES” and were waiting for any imformation. In the meamtime we got 4 small plates (with No info about desserts/ prices), them after 15 minutes a girl brought us one small deseert for one person on one plate (for 4 of us). Chaos and mess with service. We didnt know what we paid for as we didnt get any bill. I will not recomend it and will...
Read moreThis was our second time, the first was really good, had fresh grilled fish. The second time we had seafood (mussels saganaki and shrimps saganaki, octopus stifado). The saganaki was one of the worst we had so far, the sauce seemed canned, the shrimps frozen (not the fresh ones we were shown), some mussels were not even open. Stifado was the worst dish we ever had in Greece, not fresh at all, to be honest, purely disgusting. Everyone is smoking inside, when we asked to at least open some windows, the waitress said that it was too cold (mind you, it was 20 degrees outside), so we had to open the windows ourselves, without any help (they are hard to open, you have to go outside and have at least two people do it). Do not ever go here if you want high...
