What a great little hotel Scorpios sea side hotel is, and was for our stay. Let me put that into context, we paid £50 for a double room in September, that included the room rate (obviously), a welcome glass of wine on arrival and a hot buffet breakfast for two. What's not to like.
It was very clean, convenient and easy to find. An Uber from Athens airport cost just under €50 and then €6 from the hotel to the Port, terminal 7 to be precise. The room was big enough, and whilst basic it had everything that we needed. Yes the rooms at the front had balconies and sea views, which would be nice for longer stays, but for our overnight stop it was just right.
The hotel is modern, set on 4 floors with a small lift. The hotel has been well kept & maintained, with modern light and fresh decor.
The lady on reception was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the sea front between the port and the marina. It is well served by restaurants, mainly serving fresh fish of course, and bars, some of which were very busy indeed, even late into the night.
Would we stay at the Scorpios sea side hotel in Piraeus Athens again, yes absolutely. We found a delightful cafe and a nice restaurant, spending less than €20 for lunch of salad & souvlaki with a small carafe of white wine.
Everyone was so friendly and social distancing is still be adhered to and there is far more masks being worn here in Greece than there is back home in England, it's very...
Read moreA very nice small family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble. I am in a wheelchair and the staff helped my Wife with the luggage and helped me at the front door (there is a single step) and also the lift. They had arranged a taxi pick up for us from the airport at a fixed price which was waiting for us. It was very hot when we arrived and we found that they had put a bottle of water in the mini fridge. 15 minutes later we had a knock on the door and we were given two large glasses of ice cold orange drink which we drank on the balcony overlooking the sea. The room was on the small side but perfectly adequate for me and my wheelchair, it was spotless clean with a comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. They recommended a nearby taverna for dinner where the helpful staff pushed me up the ramp to get inside. The food was very good and we were probably the only non –Greeks in there. The Hotel is on a busy road but the sound insulation was very good so we had a good nights sleep and next day we had a good breakfast and we were able to delay checkout until 1pm. As our ferry was not going until 5pm we went to the bar next door and had a leisurely lunch until the taxi arranged by the hotel was due to arrive. The fixed price taxi took 10-15 mins to the port where our ferry...
Read moreLoved my stay at Scorpios Seaside Hotel. We stayed there on our first night in Athens before island hopping and the last few nights before going home. It was super close to the port and about a 15 min drive to all the museums in Athens. The staff is absolutely amazing and extremely helpful. They made getting a shuttle to and from the airport and port super easy. Takis was the main person who we talked to when we arrived. He was so helpful, gave us lots of advice about being safe in Athens, food recommendations and ideas about how much a taxi should cost, that way we would not be getting ripped off. The hotel was nice and comfortable. We got a room with 3 beds, it was kind of small but we did not mind due to us only being in the hotel to go to sleep. Everything was super clean and the VIEW was AMAZING! I would recommend getting a larger room if you have 3 adults and want a little bit more space, but besides that, I would definitely...
