This used to be a really good taverna but it has now followed the rest of the restaurants, cafes and bars in Katakolon and likes to try and rip tourists off and serve poor quality food.

I ordered a saganaki fried cheese, a cucumber and tomato salad and an Amstel beer. I asked them to not bring me any bread because I didn't want any.

So, they brought me a tray with a few slices of rock hard burnt toast, a horiatiki Greek salad, saganaki and a different beer to what I asked for.

I asked them to take away the toast and the salad and beer and bring me the items that I asked for.

After another 20 minutes they brought me the items that I originally requested. When I wanted to pay I already knew that they were going to overcharge me. He told me a price and I refused to pay it without seeing a receipt. At first, he got a bit stroppy and didn't want to bring a receipt.

In the end brought me out my receipt and surprise surprise, they had tried charging me for the Greek salad, the rock hard toast and for two beers although I only had one.

I had already worked out the correct price on the menu so I just left the exact amount on the table and walked away. The correct amount was €12 and not €21 which they tried charging me.

This type of thing is now happening all over Katakolon and people have to be careful because they are out to...

Stopped in Kotokolon on a cruiseship yesterday and despite seeing some lackluster reviews about this area we decided to have a chill beach day at the port town of Kotokolon. And what a fantastic decision it turned out to be. We walked up the beach and stopped here for lunch and had one of the best meals of our entire Euro 2024 summer trip. The service was impeccable and so was the authentic Greek cuisine. The Tzatziki and Spicy cheese dip were 10/10. The grilled platter was also amazing. The calm views of the beach were excellent.

The owners were so friendly and nice she even gave me my second beer on the house! Our experience was so great we ended up stopping back and having the pasta with prawns for dinner for our second meal of the day. What a great beach, restaurant, and family owned business this is. Anyone who has given this place a poor review does not know good cuisine or is simply not well travelled. Thanks again for the hospitality and treating us like locals making us feel...

A marina front facing restaurant, one of many with outdoor seating. Sat down and ordered grilled sardines. Then out came stale bread and olives and the sardines. The table next to me had olive oil so I asked the server if I could have some and dribbled it over the sardines. Yummy. Thr marinated olives were a bit salty but I thought it was a standard offering (not).

When I asked for the bill, I noticed an additional 4 euros. The maitre d came over and said it was for the olive oil. And the 1.80 euros for the bread and olives that they took upon themselves to serve me that I never ordered.

This is taking complete advantage of a tourist who might not have given a second look at the bill or too embarrassed to ask. Only when I asked about the charge did he remove the 4 euros from the bill but not before asking if I wanted to add a tip.

I don't mind paying for whatever it is I order but slipping in hidden charges is very...

Loved this place and highly recommend for an authentic relaxing meal and experience. It was about a 20 minute walk from the cruise ship and absolutely worth it. You just can’t beat a leisurely walk on the beach and a delicious meal by the sea. We only wanted a light snack (I wish we were hungrier as we saw all the meals coming out) but we were so happy with our choice of grilled shrimp (so tasty!), fried feta and grilled peppers. Add a gracious sized beer and serving of wine all for €25. The staff was wonderful along with the resident cats. The cats added to the charm for us :) Definitely a place we would visit again!
