Marina Fish Tavern – A Hidden Gem on the Katakolo Waterfront Marina Fish Tavern is a true 5-star experience—and then some. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The food was incredibly fresh, with standout dishes like perfectly grilled fish, tender calamari, and the absolute star of the meal: grilled octopus so amazing we ordered it four times. Every bite was a celebration of flavor and freshness. The service was excellent—warm, attentive, and full of heart. It’s a family-run restaurant, and you can feel the love in every detail. The father works his magic in the kitchen while the children serve guests with genuine hospitality and care. The location is absolutely stunning. Set right on the beachfront, the views of the water create a serene and relaxing atmosphere that pairs beautifully with a great meal and a refreshing drink. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and every moment feels special. The value is fantastic for the quality and experience you receive. It’s not the easiest spot to find, but that’s part of its charm—it’s a hidden gem. Ask around, go out of your way, and make sure you get there. You won’t regret it. Tasso and family from Canada highly recommend Marina Fish Tavern and thank the wonderful team for an unforgettable dining experience!

I’ll start with the food. The Greek salad, we had as a starter, was extremely average and for my taste just a bit too oily. As a main course we had grilled shrimps and shrimps saganaki. Grilled shrimps were a bit cold and I would say they needed a few more minutes on the grill. Shrimps saganaki were fine, if I’d like to nitpick they were a bit too oily as well. Then to the service. All was fine up to the point when we were served our food. Then we stopped existing and became invisible. I had to speak on to a passing waiter to ask for the bill as otherwise we would be waiting for someone to come even now. The cherry on top of everything was that we were first given the bill of a different table. Which took like 15 minutes to get resolved (as we had to once again wait for someone to come by, explain the problem and then again wait for the correct bill). Then on the positive side, the place is really nice, atmosphere there is amazing and as others mentioned it’s definitely not expensive. I just believe we had tough luck and this place can deliver better than what we have experienced.

The service here was nice, but the food was a bit mediocre. It was certainly fine for your typical restaurant, but in Greece the quality of food seems to be higher in general. Some items were a bit greasy but delicious, like the tiropita type item. The location is right by the ocean, but unfortunately there is open parking in front of it, so that can obscure the views if cars happen to park there. Sitting on the patio was very nice and the interior areas were nice as well. Excellent wait staff
