Kavos taverna is a hidden gem. Located in the old port of Katakolo, the restaurant offers a wide variety of typical greek dishes. It is not at all a tourist trap, as the dishes are very tasty and believe me, big (which is very Greek ;) ). We took the baked potatoes and tirokafteri (hot, spicy and creamy cheese with peppers and tomato mixed in it) for starters and gavri (gavros is a small fish similar to sardines) and pastitio (a typical Greek lasagna/macaroni-like pasta dish). We came with friends that had visited before! The owner welcomed us like family and what an experience!!!
