Beach Bar Vythos — Restaurant in Municipality of Rethymnon

Very poor service! More than an hour waiting for 2 cold Salmon salads is a shame, especially whilst you see people arrived after u getting served before u with warm food. Ununderstandable??? I complained at the waitress that replied nicely, it will take 2minutes which lasted 15min After more than an hour waiting.....Paying the bill I complained at the barman from who I got the answer: "it is not the waitress fault I understand" and from the Say of this Guy I was not the only one to wait such a long time. It remained a disgrace. Sunbeds are certainly free if u buy drinks at their bar. But the sunbeds are old and drinks are more expensive than anywhere I went on the Beach in Creta. If u are ready to pay and wait for a long Time go there. Allthough I must Say the Beach is nice and snorkling experience good. Thank god, mother nature is so good to us!!! However this bar experience made the stay on the Beach less enjoyable. My advice lay on the Beach there is plenty of Space and enjoy your own doggy bag and beer with an icebox. Easy peasy!!!...

I wouldn't recommend this place. Was a bad experience and service for us.

First of all, you are not allowed to have any food or drinks of your own in the (public?) beach. They said you can use the beds if you consume from the bar, which we did.

When we started drinking our own water and fruits, the waitress started giving some nasty look to us. When we had a can of beer open, they came to say that we were not allowed to do that, so we stopped.

We were a bit away at some point, the waitress passed by with an order... we tried to order mineral water and she said they "don't serve so far from the bar". Ridiculous, since she literally had an order on her hands to serve some people next to us!

Dishes were a bit expensive but the mussles tasted really good, this was a plus.

The Sunshades and sunbeds are of the worst quality possible - don't expect sun protection. The beach itself is quite nice, rocky and good for snorkelling.

Overall, there are many nice places in Crete to spend your money... this was not one of...

The best place I’ve visited on Crete with a fantastic view, crystal clear water. The beach is intimate and enchanting with not so many people. Perfect for someone who's looking for quiet. Sealife is unique, and I haven't seen better on Crete. Owners and staff are super friendly and always helpful. Food deserves a separate paragraph. Everything is garden-fresh, fish is usually caught every morning. The dishes are simple, cooked on point, and delicious. Chefs are young, creative and ambitious. They focus on ingredients they have, embracing them. Vegetables are always cooked perfectly, slightly seasoned, crunchy, packed with flavour. So do fish and meat. Everything is just delicious. To sum up, me and my whole family fell in love with this place, and we definitely will come back here. As a cook, I recommend it to anyone who wants to taste traditional Cretan cuisine with a modern twist. The best food I’ve tasted on...
